40 TH ANNUAL ASSEMBLY OF CIPI<br />
The 40 th Annual Assembly of CIPI<br />
(Conference of <strong>the</strong> Italian <strong>Passio</strong>nist<br />
Provinces) took place on April 14 -16, 2008<br />
at <strong>the</strong> Shrine of St. Gabriel of <strong>the</strong> Sorrowful<br />
Mo<strong>the</strong>r (TE).<br />
The meeting was primarily dedicated to <strong>the</strong> questionnaire<br />
of <strong>the</strong> General Curia on Restructuring in<br />
preparation for <strong>the</strong> General Synod of <strong>the</strong><br />
Congregation. The decision was made to give <strong>the</strong><br />
greatest amount of attention to four of <strong>the</strong> ten areas of<br />
priority that were selected by <strong>the</strong> General Chapter.<br />
These are: 1) International collaboration for community<br />
life and apostolate; 2) Solidarity with regard to<br />
personnel and finances; 3) Formation and 4)<br />
Preferential option for youth. In its concluding<br />
remarks <strong>the</strong> following points were highlighted:<br />
Internal Restructuring of <strong>the</strong> Province, beginning<br />
with personal “conversion”; redoubling efforts at collaboration<br />
among <strong>the</strong> Italian provinces; and <strong>the</strong> unification<br />
of <strong>the</strong> Italian provinces.<br />
The following religious were elected to positions<br />
of leadership with CIPI: Fr. Fernando Taccone,<br />
(PIET) as new secretary of CIPI and Fr. Vincenzo<br />
Fabri, (PIET) as legal representative of CIPI. ●<br />
