What is “climate research”
Climate research is any research activity that:
1. Increases our understanding of the current state of
Earth’s climate and its interactions within Earth’s
systems – atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere,
lithosphere.
2. Increases our understanding of the forces that have
shaped, are shaping, and will shape climate, both
natural and anthropogenic.
3. Proposes future scenarios for Earth’s climate, based
on observation, historical evidence, analysis,
modeling, and theory.
