General Purpose of the GKS
Global Korea Scholarship(GKS)
for Exchange Students
GKS aims to support the exchange program for undergraduate students who are able to
participate in classes taught in Korean at partner universities in Korea.
Scholarship Covered Period: September 2010 – February 2011(1 semester)
Preference : Undergraduate student who is able to participate in classes taught in Korean is
preferred
Details of the Scholarship
1) Living Expenses: 800,000 Won per a Month(Approximately US$720)
2) Round-trip Airfare (Economy Class):
- In case of one-way trip, only one-way ticket is covered.
3) Settlement Allowances: 200,000 Won(Approximately US$170)
4) Insurance Fee: 15,000 Won per a Month( Approximately US$13)
5) Arrange Dormitory
6) Tuition exemption
Required Documents: Documents should be prepared in English.
1) Application form
2) A copy of proof of enrollment
3) A copy of transcript
4) A letter of recommendation
5) Financial Statement (Bank Statement Showing at least US $10,000)
6) A copy of ID card which shows applicant's citizenship, birth date, etc.(or Copy of Passport)
7) A letter of self-introduction including study plan.
