YOUTH EMPOWERMENT
Rawabi Talent Exhibit 2012
Reaches ~13,000 Youth
The second annual Rawabi Talent Exhibit
(RTE) was held at Al-Seef Hall, Khobar
between April 21-25, 2012. The talent
exhibit displays a variety of careers in
interactive booths, allowing for the target
age group (16-24 year olds) to meet
professionals in different areas and learn
more about their future career options.
Booths included a mix of traditional and
non-traditional professions such as Hotel
Manager, Lawyer, Petroleum Engineer,
Psychologist, Physician, Event Planner,
Film Producer/Director, and many more
special careers. This second annual
exhibit came at the end of a series of
modified RTEs that were held in four high
schools in the Eastern province as well as
two career fairs that the Ministry of Labor
Long trekking pants Check! Trekking
poles Check! Sleeping bag Check! This
is how our conversations sounded only a
few hours before Mount Kilimanjaro, at
5,895 meters high stared back at eight
Saudi climbers, challenging us to a feat
of a lifetime. It’s exciting to remember
the days before the climb, and how it all
began.
In 2007, I
received an
e-mail from
a friend
who was
organizing a
trip to Mt.
Kilimanjaro.
Being the
adventurous ‎person I am, I jumped at
the idea and said “I’m in!” not taking
into account the fact that I was applying
for a working ‎visa (H1B) in the United
States, and therefore, could not leave the
US before receiving it. That very same
year, I ‎made a pact that hopefully one
day, a group of friends and I will attempt
Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in
‎Africa and the highest freestanding
mountain in the world.‎
Fast forwarding the tape a little, it’s
November 2010. We’re in the heart of
India; the birth place of he who said “Be
‎the change you wish to see in the world”
– Gandhi. Munching on some yummy
bananas, we decide that 2012 shall ‎be
the year we attempt Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Inspired by the desire to see change
in the world we decided that if we ‎were
to climb a mountain it would be for a
cause, turning the physical challenge of
climbing a mountain into a ‎metaphor for
overcoming the obstacles of disease.‎
The journey of a lifetime began on the
18 th of February 2012, when we, a group
of eight Saudi climbers, traveled ‎to
Tanzania on our own expense, for a cause
that hits too close to home for many of
us. We’ve all heard of or ‎known someone
who has lost his/her life to cancer, and
unanimously feel that there is room for
us to help. ‎Kilimanjaro 4 Cancer, the title
of our mission, will hopefully play a role
in helping the Saudi Cancer Foundation
‎(SCF) raise funds for the first early
detection center in the Eastern Province
in Saudi Arabia. This center will cover
‎the detection of the most common types
of cancer among males and females in
the Kingdom. Thanks to the ‎generosity of
Fayha Water, a subsidiary of Mohammed
A. Al-Rajhi and Sons Holding Group, SCF
has already ‎received a substantial amount
in donations.‎
‎ ‎
According to the World Health
Organization (WHO), cancer is the fourth
ranked cause of death in the Middle
East ‎and kills approximately 272,000
individuals each year in this region.
SCF states that “resources for cancer
control ‎in the region, as a whole, are
not only inadequate but directed almost
exclusively to treatment.” There is no
denial ‎that treatment is crucial and has
saved many lives. However, intervening at
the right time not only saves lives but ‎can
also reduce the immeasurable financial
burden often associated with the disease.‎
‎ ‎
The Saudi Cancer Foundation (SCF)
deserves a standing ovation for its
sincerest efforts in drawing that smile on
‎Ahmed’s face, for bringing Abu Abdullah
from Jizan for his second chemo session,
for encouraging Um ‎Mohammed to do that
Mammogram that, God willing, saved her
life and the list goes on and on. On behalf
of ‎Ahmed, Abu Abdullah, Um Mohammed
and many others, we (the climbers) salute
you.
Mona Shahab is part of Kilimanjaro
4 Cancer, a team of eight climbers
including Noor Alshadawi, Budoor
‎Alshadawi, Khadija Al-Jefri, Ariel
Al-Blehed, Ahmed Al-Rabiah,
Abdullah Al-Mulhim and Hamza
Marzouki. If you ‎would like to support
this initiative, or would like more
information, please contact us at
Climbers fully supported their climb.
All donations will go directly to the
Saudi Cancer ‎Foundation. ‎
Mona Shahab is also part of “A
Woman’s Journey: Destination
Mount Everest.” She is one of the
11 Saudi female ‎climbers who made
it to Everest Base Camp on May
14th, 2012 to raise breast cancer
awareness and promote a ‎healthy
lifestyle. She walked on behalf of her
aunt, a close family friend and the
phenomenal women of “Lajnat Al-
‎Amal” a support group at the Saudi
Cancer Foundation in the Eastern
Province.‎
corporate community service
Rawabi Holding, a company powered by people, has placed employee giving at the top of its list of priorities. The Corporate
Communications Department and the CSR Unit have been working to engage employees on various levels. One of our four main CSR
programs is the Corporate Community Service program, wherein we encourage employees to bring forth their community initiatives
so we can offer logistical and operational support and suggestions and provide exceptional levels of community service. The below
article from Realized Worth, a company established to help organizations improve their volunteering programs to make a more
sustainable social change sheds light on some wonderful drivers for enhancing our corporate volunteering efforts.
The Business Case for ‎Employee
Volunteering – ‎Case ‎#2‎
By: CHRIS JARVIS
Partner, Business Development, Realized Worth
http://www.realizedworth.com/2011/06/business-case-for-employee-‎volunteering_20.htmlutm_source=feedburner&utm_
medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+‎RealizingYourWorth+%28Realizing+Your+Worth%29‎
Many companies have employee
volunteer programs, but for many
companies in ‎Europe, Canada and the
US these programs are underfunded,
underdeveloped ‎and underutilized. This
blog series is meant to offer a number
of compelling ‎reasons why your business
needs to invest (a bit more) in employee
volunteering.‎
Finding New Talent
‎“Firms are also facing strong demand
for CSR from their employees, so much
so that it has ‎become a serious part of
the competition for talent. Ask almost
any large company about the ‎business
rationale for its CSR efforts and you
will be told that they help to motivate,
attract and ‎retain staff.” (Read the full
Economist article here.)‎
‎“People want to work at a company where
they share the values and the ethos.”‎
‎- Mike Kelly, head of CSR, KPMG Europe
Companies in the process of recruiting
new talent from college campuses
already know that ‎millennials have a
unique perspective on employment. (If
you’re the one charged with ‎interviewing
them, be prepared; you may be surprised
In a 2007 survey of 2,418 students in 53 undergraduate programs in ‎the U.S. and Canada
conducted by Net Impact, it was discovered that 77% of respondents ‎planned to seek socially
responsible work immediately upon graduation. In the follow-up 2010 ‎study, that number jumps
up to 84% of undergraduates intending to seek out a socially ‎responsible workplace.‎
by an odd sense of being interviewed
‎yourself.) Recruiters are also discovering
that the criteria they are being assessed
against are not ‎what many businesses are
traditionally prepared for. Rather than
salary and benefit packages, ‎millennials
are asking about a company’s corporate
social responsibility. In fact, nearly
50% of ‎interviewees from the millennial
generation will raise the issue of CSR
during the interview or ‎hiring process
with a potential for-profit employer.‎
According to the 8 th Annual Deloitte
Volunteer IMPACT Survey, more than
half (61 percent) of ‎the millennials
surveyed said that they are likely to
factor a company’s commitment to the
‎community into their decision if choosing
between two jobs with the same location,
‎responsibilities and pay and benefits.
Surprisingly, that was true even among
those millennials ‎surveyed who rarely or
never volunteer.‎
But this isn’t recent news – In a
2007 survey of 2,418 students in 53
undergraduate programs in ‎the U.S. and
Canada conducted by Net Impact, it was
discovered that 77% of respondents
‎planned to seek socially responsible work
immediately upon graduation. In the
follow-up 2010 ‎study, that number jumps
up to 84% of undergraduates intending to
seek out a socially ‎responsible workplace.‎
Engaging New Talent
It’s one thing to find that hot new talent,
it’s quite another to engage them. Your
company may ‎have a great CSR program.
But millennials need to be able to actively
participate in the process ‎of being a good
corporate citizen in order to tap into all
that potential.‎
The same Deloitte Volunteer IMPACT
Survey revealed that – compared to
those who rarely or ‎never volunteer –
millennials who frequently participate
in their company’s employee volunteer
‎activities are:‎
• Twice as likely to rate their corporate
culture as very positive (56% vs.
28%)‎
• More likely to be very proud to work
for their company (55% vs. 36%)‎
• More likely to feel very loyal toward
their company (52% vs. 33%)‎
• Nearly twice as likely to be very
satisfied with the progression of their
career (37% vs. 21%)‎
• More likely to be very satisfied with
their employer (51% vs. 32%)‎
• More likely to recommend their
company to a friend (57% vs. 46%)‎
Affording New Talent
Now here’s some interesting news:
Millennials are so committed to
improving the world, and working ‎with
companies that share their passions,
they are willing to work for less pay to do
so. Students ‎graduating with master’s
degrees in business administration
at 11 top business schools value
‎corporate responsibility so highly, that
when evaluating potential employers
“graduates are ‎willing to sacrifice
an average of 14.4 percent of their
expected salaries to work at socially
‎responsible companies.” (Read the full
article here.)‎
‎- David Montgomery, Stanford Graduate
School of Business and Catherine
Ramus, University of ‎California at Santa
Barbara.‎
Knowing this, companies like PwC
have built recruitment strategies
around community service ‎projects
and volunteering. Last year, PwC
launched a partnership with Operation
HOPE to teach ‎financial literacy and
empowerment.The Five Million Kids
Initiative (5MK) would require PwC
‎to commit it’s 525 intern volunteers
to work on some of the toughest high
school campuses ‎across the country.
(But then a gang fight broke out at the
recent programs and some executives
‎wondered if things had gone too far –
you can read the whole story here).‎
It’s a New World
The expectations of millennials must be
met by companies if they hope to attract,
engage and afford ‎the best and brightest
of the next generation of employees.
Millennials are unlike the previous
‎generations of employees (Boomers, for
example) whose interest in making a
positive ‎contribution to society is defined
by philanthropy or charity – they don’t
necessarily expect it to ‎be integrated with
work. The “boomer” will traditionally
volunteer on his/her own time and will
‎view financial donations to a cause as a
personal affair.‎
The new generation expects integration.
A full 88% believe that businesses
should be proactively ‎addressing social
concerns and environmental issues. They
are unwilling to relegate concerns for ‎a
more sustainable planet to their free
time and they believe that waiting to do
good until ‎retirement is unnecessary. The
issues of climate change, hunger, war,
education must be ‎addressed today – or
there may not be a tomorrow.‎
But very few (only 37%) believe
companies are working towards this
better society today. Millennials ‎intend
to change that reality by becoming
champions of change within society
and the workplace ‎– and they believe
companies should work with them to
do so. A robust employee volunteering
‎program provides millennials with an
immediate and tangible opportunity
to experience the kind ‎of integrated
approach they are looking for.‎
‎“Having a purpose beyond making a
profit distinguishes our company. It helps
us to attract and retain ‎phenomenal
employees.“‎
‎- Marc Benioff, Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer, salesforce.com, inc.‎
As Rawabi United Safety Services
(RUSS) continues to provide promising
quality services to its clients, RUSS has
‎been able to acquire several new and
maintain other existing projects. This
has been achieved through setting up
‎modern technology and in-time service
delivery creating a bond of trust and
value. Presented here are some of the
‎developments during the second quarter:‎
• RUSS successfully completed
a CTD - 1 Test Well operation
with Schlumberger. The growing
‎relationship with Schlumberger has
led to several new projects (Frac -
testing project North Arabia, Manifa
• RUSS services contract on CTUBD
(XTD’s) project with Baker Hughes
has been extended for another one
‎and a half years. This has been
achieved through RUSS’ conscious
commitment to delivering safety
‎services without any Loss Time
Incidents (LTIs) since 2010 on this
highly critical operation.‎
• RUSS gained a new business
opportunity with Arabian Drilling Co.
for their “Rig Camp Safety”. RUSS
Company (RISS) announces the
highlights of the 2 nd quarter.‎
Management Review Meeting
Operating in a booming market keeps
RISS’s management team busy and
focused on securing new projects and
enhancing the current team. Although
challenging, our new projects, such as a
five and a half month contract with Saudi
Aramco, a one-year contract with Petrojet,
a three year project with Marafiq and a
three year project with Petro-Rabigh keep
us on our toes. Of
late, we secured
a contract with
Dayim Punj Lloyd
for one year and
there are many
other projects
in the pipeline.
In light of these
developments,
the recent
Management
Review Meeting,
held on May
30, 2012, discussed issues of quality,
safety, operations, recruitment, and
how to maximize our profit margins. All
department managers and unit heads
were present and committed.
Marketing, Business Development,
Proposal Submissions and
Purchase Orders
One of the advantages RISS gained by
adding Rawabi Corrosion Technology
Company (RCT) under its ‎umbrella is the
ability to market for all Non-destructive
Testing (NDT), Post Weld Heat Treatment
Services ‎(PWHT) and Cathodic Protection
(CP) at the same time. We have already
realized an improvement in our ‎market
presence and signed new clients such
as Saudi Aramco, KJO, McDermott and
Ma’aden. All ‎existing clients are also
aware of the new services offered by RISS
and our team is working hard to ‎ensure
that RCT’s services are incorporated into
future contracts. ‎
Our marketing team has expanded to
serve the Jeddah and Rabigh-Yanbu area;
ensuring that our ‎existing clients have
direct access to a RISS representative
and to provide more direct marketing
locally. ‎
As the construction sector continues
to expand in KSA, NDT is in high
demand. RISS continues to be ‎one of
the most qualified and reliable partners
in the field that can deliver on ‎all client
requirements. Our ‎expansion to keep up
with this growth will ensure that we can
contribute to the ‎economic development
of ‎the country and assist us in overcoming
the obstacles we are faced with.‎
The additional courses offered, in addition
to Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) are basic safety
training ‎requirements for all rig ‎personnel
Offering these additional courses is aimed
at addressing the increasing demand for
these skills in the ‎oilfield.‎
Gymboree Play floor
Baby sessions at Gymboree! Our
wonderful sessions for Babies from
birth to 6 months enhance your baby’s
‎development in their early months.‎
How your baby learns and grows ‎
In these early months, babies are learning
to feel comfortable in the outside world.
They are working on regulating ‎their
eating and sleeping cycles and even their
body temperature. What’s most important
for babies during this ‎time is that they
feel loved, safe and secure with you.
This healthy “attachment” helps babies
become eager ‎learners and develop selfesteem,
self-confidence, and the ability
to form close, healthy relationships as
they ‎grow. ‎
How Gymboree activities support
your baby’s development
• Sensory play is the foundation of
early learning. It is through taking
in, and making sense of new sights,
‎sounds and textures that babies
learn about the world around them—
whether it is by following a flashlight
‎beam with their eyes or reaching for a
brightly colored scarf. ‎
• Songs help babies develop good
listening skills and learn language
as they hear the same songs over
‎and over. Doing finger plays with the
songs also promotes babies’ visual
tracking skills (how they focus ‎on and
follow something with their eyes).
Best of all, singing is a fun, nurturing
experience that babies ‎and their
parents can share. ‎
• Tummy time, critical for building
the upper body strength needed for
crawling, gives babies a chance to ‎see
their own reflections using mirrors.
Seeing their reflection during tummy
time helps them understand ‎that
their bodies belong to them, and that
they are separate from others. ‎
• Listen, touch and play promotes
babies’ listening skills and how they
respond to musical melodies, the
‎sensory of gentle massage, and a
soothing tactile exploration with
recorded music. Listen, touch and
play ‎is also a loving, nurturing
experience for both parent and child
and deepens babies’ trust in their
parents.‎
• Parent discussions provide
an opportunity for adults to discuss
parenting issues with other moms-
- to ‎share ideas, questions, and
experiences. The sense of community
that develops can be a real source of
‎support and wisdom for all moms,
whether this is their first or fourth
baby!‎
RAWABI EXCELLENCE
AWARDS FOR 2011
Where: Le Meridian Hotel, Al-Khobar, KSA
When: Thursday, April 26, 2012
Theme: Health & Safety
I would like to take this opportunity to
reflect on the past year at Rawabi Holding,
and set the stage for ‎the exciting ‎year to
come. The year 2011 was a year full of
challenges. The first half of the year
was ‎particularly difficult. Yet as ‎we are a
company powered by dedicated people,
we were able to overcome ‎our obstacles,
and the hard work and ‎team efforts
allowed us to return to profitability before
the end of ‎the year.‎
Profitability is key to running an effective
business—it enables us to retain our
employees and allows our ‎companies
to produce top tier products and deliver
exceptional services for our clients.
Profitability ‎allows us to ‎realize our
vision and contribute to the growth and
development of the businesses we ‎engage
in and the ‎communities in which we
operate.‎
During one of my business trips, I met
with a Japanese consulting firm which
work closely with Toyota ‎and many ‎other
companies. Their methodology and
business approach inspired me to enhance
the way ‎we run our daily ‎operations and
improve the effectiveness of everything
we do in order to reach our ‎goals and
excel. Many ‎measures were put in place
last year as part of our continuous effort
to remain ‎profitable and grow, namely,
‎controlling cost and running a tight ship.
In 2011 our focus was on ‎efficiency—
aiming to improve our performance ‎over
that of the year 2010. This of course is
a continuous ‎process that never stops—
and do not be surprised if you ‎see these
Japanese consultants amongst us,
‎assisting us in implementing strategies
that differentiate our ‎operations from that
of our competitors.‎
‎ ‎
I often tell my colleagues and members
of management that to live a long and
healthy life one must eat ‎well and
‎maintain a healthy diet. This philosophy
easily transfers to companies: controlling
cost allows a ‎company to remain ‎healthy,
and brave any storm that may interrupt
smooth operations.‎
‎ ‎
It is not a secret that I believe that we
can always do better. And why not Every
day I am reminded that I ‎have a ‎dynamic,
energetic, young and dedicated team,
working hard day and night to bring
Rawabi ‎Holding to the lead. ‎Our vision is
clear, and it is your dedication that will
allow us to realize it.‎
Our values and transparent structure
are the ingredients for our advancement
and sustainable economic ‎and ‎social
development. ‎
Integrity,‎
customer focus,‎
professionalism, ‎
people development, ‎
and corporate social responsibility. ‎
These values come to life in our main
business objectives.‎
Our first objective
is Expansion
Rawabi Holding offers lucrative and
unique services and products needed
regionally; therefore we plan ‎on ‎expanding
in the Gulf States and MENA region in the
short and medium term.‎
Rawabi Holding began expanding
operations to Abu Dhabi, and as part of this
expansion, in the middle ‎of May, ‎2009,
we joined other investors in acquiring
United Safety, a Canadian company based
in ‎Calgary which operates ‎in 15 different
countries through Energy Capital group.
This acquisition was an ‎effort to bring new
technical know-‎how to the region. The
companies that we partner with and take
over ‎are unique, and always have added
value ‎regionally to the industries in which
we operate. Many more of ‎these are in the
pipeline.‎
Ladies and gentlemen, let me share with
you some of our success stories from the
year 2011.‎
As of 2011, we have entered the marine
services line and have signed a contract
with Saudi Aramco to ‎provide ‎anchor
handling tug services for two boats,
Rawabi 1 and Rawabi 2, and there are
more to ‎come. We are ‎expanding in the
offshore services business by adding and
building new fleets to our ‎existing ones,
which include ‎DLB Aziz, Rawabi One,
and Rawabi Two, with our partners in
Singapore, ‎Swiber Holding.‎
We were also able to win the mud
engineering contract for the term of three
years after facing tough ‎competition. ‎We
have been providing the service of mud
engineering to Saudi Aramco for the last
‎twenty years, and at the end ‎of the bidding
competition it is the quality provided by
Rawabi EMEC that ‎won. Congratulations
to the Rawabi ‎EMEC team.‎
Also, this year we were able to win the
casing contract with Saudi Aramco for
the term of three years. ‎Congratulations
to the team of Frank’s Rawabi for this
accomplishment.‎
And I will take this opportunity to thank
Mr. Ossama Muhtaseb for his great work in
this regards, and his ‎support ‎which helped
to secure these two important projects.‎
We keep growing, and we will continue to
grow.‎
Early this year, Rawabi Electric developed
the first of its kind Saudi-made power
control room, or PCR. ‎The PCR ‎will offer
Saudi Aramco all the power and control
required to energize the pumping station
to ‎extract and deliver ‎50,000 barrels of
light crude a day. This was no small feat,
and many windows of ‎opportunity have
been opened ‎as a result.‎
Group President & CEO’s Speech...
(Continued from previous page)
Rawabi Electric was also ranked the first
supplier to the Saudi Electricity Company
for the supply of an ‎outdoor ‎Ring Main Unit
(RMU). This ranking materialized after
signing two supply agreements with the
‎company. ‎Congratulations to the Rawabi
Electric Team on these commendable
accomplishments.‎
Rawabi Industrial Support Services
has signed contracts with McDermitt,
Sinopec and Samsung, ‎amongst others
to ‎provide the service of NDT and heat
treatment. We congratulate them on these
‎accomplishments and wish them ‎the best
of luck. We also would like to congratulate
the Rawabi ‎Specialized Contracting
Team on their contract with ‎the Royal
Commission in Jubail.‎
I would also like to take this opportunity
to congratulate Rawabi Specialized
Enclosures on their newly ‎signed
‎contracts with Raytheon and Edas, leading
international companies in defense and
special ‎projects. RSE has ‎been awarded
several large scale projects in this regard,
including a communications ‎contract for
Saudi Aramco. ‎Congratulations to the RSE
team.‎
And finally, we are proud to announce that
Rawabi Trading and Contracting managed
to secure LDOR ‎Purchase ‎Agreement with
Saudi Aramco to supply Xanthan Gum for
the term of two years. ‎Congratulations.‎
In order to remain competitive in our
expansion, we can differentiate by
sticking to our core values, and ‎upholding
‎our mission. My team always complains
that I am never satisfied. How can I be,
when I see ‎that there is always so ‎much
more to be done. Accomplishments such
as those which I have shared with ‎you only
make me more ‎confident that you are all
capable of delivering the exceptional and
the ‎extraordinary. Utilize your competitive
‎advantage, and grow in your areas of
strength. Focus on your ‎aptitude, and
even you will be surprised at how your
‎limits disappear.‎
Our second main
business objective is
diversification
Rawabi Holding is growing, and continues
to seek new challenges and new frontiers
for growth. In order ‎to shield ‎our operations
from cyclical shifts in one industry, we
aim to diversify our business lines and
‎become a mixed ‎sector company.‎
By diversifying our portfolio, which began
with oilfield services as well as contracting
and industrial ‎services before ‎expanding
into retail, we can provide our customers
with turnkey solutions. Our objective ‎this
year is to grow in ‎retail and add more lines
of business in the retail sector.‎
We are currently in discussions with
different groups of people to explore
expanding in the food industry ‎and
‎medical supplies industry.‎
I would like to take a moment to discuss
with you one of the main drivers for
Rawabi Holding’s ‎successful business
‎model. We are a family owned company,
the family being the shareholders. The
‎complex interaction between ‎family,
business, and ownership makes it difficult
for many companies to ‎survive in the long
run. Studies have ‎shown that nearly 80%
of family owned businesses fail to survive
‎the third generation. Studies have also
shown ‎that a clear corporate governance
structure makes this ‎much less likely to
be the case. Rawabi Holding maintains a
‎clear separation of ownership and control.‎
The purpose of a corporate governance
structure is to avoid conflict within the
company and to define ‎the rights ‎and
responsibilities of all stakeholders.
Corporate governance is the set of
relationships ‎between a company’s
‎management, its board, its shareholders
and other stakeholders—you are Rawabi
‎Holding’s major stakeholders, it ‎is the
relationship between the company and
everyone in this room.‎
‎ ‎
Stakeholders can be defined as
‘individuals and groups who are affected
by the activities of an ‎organization. You
‎are all Rawabi Holding stakeholders. So
are our clients, our partners, our neighbors
‎and so is our environment.‎
There are two main governance bodies in
Rawabi Holding’s corporate governance
structure: ‎
the family council and the board of
directors.‎
The Family council, which consists of
the shareholders of the company; Sheikh
Abdulaziz AlTurki, his ‎wife and ‎children,
is responsible for keeping the family
informed about all business matters.‎
While the Board of Directors, consists
of five board members: the Chairman of
the Board, the vice ‎chairman and ‎two
independent directors the one executive
member of the Board is the President and
‎CEO. The Board of ‎Directors is responsible
for setting policy and strategy for the
business and makes ‎recommendations to
the ‎shareholders in matters that concern
business, they shape the mission and
‎strategic direction of the company, ‎provide
legal and financial oversight, leadership
and resources and ‎monitor performance,
resolve conflicts of ‎interest and mitigate
risks.‎
Rawabi Holding strives to be transparent
in daily operations, and aims to ensure
that there is fair and ‎exceptional ‎treatment
of everyone the company touches. Our
corporate governance exists to ensure
that ‎our companies are ‎not affected by
misunderstandings and disagreements,
but rather by a drive to excel ‎and bring
the company to the ‎next level for the
betterment of all of our stakeholders.‎
‎ ‎
Let us work together to strengthen the
relationship and bonds between all
members of the Rawabi ‎Holding family. ‎It
is through listening to each other that our
objectives become possible. It is through
‎upholding our values that our ‎possibilities
become great. I wish you a successful and
remarkable 2012. ‎
‎ ‎
I would like to conclude with a verse from
the Quran: “And say “Keep on with your
works - Allah will now ‎see ‎your deeds,
and so will His Noble Messenger and
the Muslims” QURAN CHAPTER 9: AL-
TAWBA ‎(REPENTANCE). Verse 105‎.‎
NEW EMPLOYEES
The people of Rawabi Holding are at the core of our company. As a united team, we boldly reach for the sky
while respecting what holds us firmly to the ground.
Excellence
Awards Quiz
from page 19:
It is our people who enable us to tackle new challenges, extend our services and actively add new offerings
to our growing portfolio. The personal sense of responsibility each employee feels fuels our hard work and
determination and helps make us a success each and every day.
We welcome all new members and wish them a successful journey with Rawabi Holding.
A group of NDT Inspectors at Rawabi
Industrial Support Services (RISS)
believe that they have found the ‎solution
for motivation in the workplace, and see
themselves as guides to all employees
in the company to ‎cooperate and build
a positive team spirit. A team oriented
environment allows employees to
contribute to the ‎overall success of the
organization. Although each employee
has a specific job description and a
unique function, ‎and belongs to a
specific department within the company,
the desire to accomplish the company’s
overall ‎objectives unites all employees.
In the end, it is the bigger picture and
common goal drives one’s actions. In
order ‎to work effectively within a team
and strive toward this greater goal,
every individual at the workplace should
‎openly discuss ideas with others and
share their daily ups and downs. Working
in isolation or in a highly ‎authoritative
environment can be depressing and demotivating,
therefore, teamwork should
be fostered by ‎respecting, encouraging,
enthusing and caring for one another. ‎
community can be more effective in
achieving company goals ‎than annual
appraisals, management-by-objectives
and other corporate strategies. Small
efforts can make all the difference,
such as celebrating everyone’s birthday
by hosting a small get-together and
providing a simple gift or greeting card.
Also, many employees are good
at keeping the mood positive and
brightening up the day by sharing
cheerful and ‎funny jokes. Performing
in this way actually makes you a better
leader amongst your peers; taking your
job ‎seriously but ensuring that you enjoy
your time while you do it. ‎
‎ ‎
Although company incentives and awards
are beneficial, a spirit of teamwork and a
sincere sense of culture and ‎community
are essential to keep employees
motivated and productive. This will
enables individuals to contribute ‎more
than they ever thought possible. ‎
