Hydro Development - 50,000 MW Hydro Initiative<br />
‣ 50,000 MW Hydro Initiative was launched in 2003 <strong>and</strong><br />
Preliminary Feasibility Report (PFRS) of 162 projects<br />
totaling to 48,000 MW has been prepared.<br />
‣ Out of this 77 projects with total capacity of about 37000<br />
MW for which first year tariff is expected to be less than<br />
Rs.2.50/unit were selected for execution.<br />
‣ In 11th plan, a capacity addition of over 15,500 MW has<br />
been earmarked keeping in view the present<br />
preparedness of these projects.<br />
‣ Projects totaling to a capacity of 30,000 MW have been<br />
identified for 12th Plan.<br />
‣ 13 th Plan 31,000 MW<br />
‣ 14 th Plan 36,494 MW
