Effective OCT 30th 2009<br />
This <strong>Fiche</strong> extension is principally aimed at updating information in line with the new <strong>TAG</strong> (Touch & Go)<br />
engine option version for the Formula <strong>TKM</strong> 2 stroke classes.<br />

<strong>TKM</strong> <strong>BT82</strong> <strong>Fiche</strong> and Amendments <strong>TAG</strong><br />
STARTER MOTOR: Only permissible starter motor is the one supplied by <strong>Tal</strong>-<strong>Ko</strong> with no modifications<br />
and with the <strong>TKM</strong> logo present on mounting face casting. It is permissible to drill and lock wire the 2 off<br />
M5 Cap Head motor housing bolts if required. The starter motor lead to be as supplied.<br />
STARTER MOTOR HOUSING: Must be as supplied by <strong>Tal</strong>-<strong>Ko</strong> with no modifications with the <strong>TKM</strong> logo<br />
cast on outside.<br />
STARTER MOTOR BENDIX GEAR: Must be as supplied by <strong>Tal</strong>-<strong>Ko</strong> with no modifications.<br />
BENDIX COVER: Must be as supplied by <strong>Tal</strong>-<strong>Ko</strong> with no modifications with the <strong>TKM</strong> logo stamped on<br />
outside face.<br />
CLUTCH: Only permissible clutch assembly complete is the one supplied by <strong>Tal</strong>-<strong>Ko</strong> with no<br />
modifications and the <strong>TKM</strong> logo stamped on all of the three clutch shoe outer faces. It is not permissible<br />
to reline the clutch shoes or add substances to either the shoes or drum. The clutch must be triggered<br />
and make the kart and driver move forward by 4000 rpm maximum. The clutch must be in direct drive<br />
(and 100% engaged) by 7000 rpm maximum. A bar test may also be used to test clutch engagement,<br />
parameters to be advised.<br />
CLUTCH GUARD: The use of an extended length fully enclosed chain and clutch guard must be used.<br />
Type and make free.<br />
CLUTCH CHAIN SPROCKET: Must be as supplied by <strong>Tal</strong>-<strong>Ko</strong> with no modifications with the <strong>TKM</strong> logo<br />
stamped on outside face. 10 & 11 Tooth <strong>TKM</strong> sprockets only.<br />
STARTER RING GEAR: Must be as supplied by <strong>Tal</strong>-<strong>Ko</strong> with no modifications having 66 teeth and the<br />
<strong>TKM</strong> logo stamped on back face.<br />
STARTER RING GEAR COVER & COIL MOUNT PLATE: Must be as originally supplied with engine by<br />
<strong>Tal</strong>-<strong>Ko</strong> in unmodified form with the <strong>TKM</strong> logo stamped on outside face and must always be in position.<br />
CRANKSHAFT: Must be as supplied by <strong>Tal</strong>-<strong>Ko</strong> with no modifications or additional balancing allowed.<br />
Must have <strong>BT82</strong> etched on flywheel O/D’s. The balance inserts must always be in their place and of their<br />
original size, weight and material.<br />
MAIN CRANK BEARING: Only FAG 6205TVH.C3 crank bearings permitted with no modifications.<br />
CRANK OIL SEALS: Must be TTO manufacture, type and size as originally supplied by <strong>Tal</strong>-<strong>Ko</strong>.<br />
Clutch side: TTO 25 x 35 x 7mm Ignition side: TTO 20 x 35 x 7mm<br />
PVL IGNITION SYSTEM: Must be as supplied by <strong>Tal</strong>-<strong>Ko</strong> with no modifications. The following<br />
components Coil, Rotor, Stator and CD1 box must have the <strong>TKM</strong> logo present. It is permissible to seal<br />
any connections to aid water proofing. Repairs and modifications to the plugs and wiring looms are<br />
permitted.<br />

IGNITION TIMING: Can be set between 3.00mm BTDC to 4.00mm BTDC.<br />

<strong>TKM</strong> <strong>BT82</strong> <strong>Fiche</strong> and Amendments <strong>TAG</strong><br />
PLUG CAP: The use of the unmodified PVL 401 222 with built it resistor Black coloured plug cap as<br />
supplied with engine is mandatory. This plug cap can only be used on the <strong>TAG</strong> version <strong>BT82</strong> engine.<br />
DRIVER PUSH BUTTONS: Must be as supplied by <strong>Tal</strong>-<strong>Ko</strong> with no modification and can be used with<br />
either the supplied PVL Extension lead or not. Position is free providing it conforms to MSA ruling but it<br />
is advised they are used in conjunction with the <strong>TKM</strong> supplied steering wheel mounting bracket.<br />
These supplied push buttons are the only ones permitted. It is permissible to seal any connections to aid<br />
water proofing as well as the repairs to broken wiring including replacement connections.<br />
BATTERY: Batteries are free.<br />
BATTERY MOUNT: The only permissible battery mount complete is the one originally supplied with the<br />
engine from <strong>Tal</strong>-<strong>Ko</strong> with <strong>TKM</strong> logo stamped in metal base and also moulded in the plastic cover.<br />
Modifications can be carried out to both the mount and its plastic cover to aid fitment to kart, and the PVL<br />
components and battery. It must be raced complete with the plastic <strong>TKM</strong> provided cover. It is<br />
permissible to seal any connections to aid water proofing as well as the repairs to broken wiring including<br />
replacement connections to suit.<br />
The following components must be fitted to the battery mount:-<br />
Battery, PVL CDI Box, PVL Fuse, PVL Solid State Relay & PVL Driver Control Unit.<br />
It is permissible to drill additional holes both in the battery mounting plate and the plastic cover for the<br />
fitment of additional security fittings such as cable ties and water proofing or other.<br />
ENGINE MOUNT BOLT PATTERN: On <strong>TAG</strong> style crankcase the engine mounting bolt pattern changes<br />
from 80mm X 123mm to 80mm X 102mm. These dimensions are centre line dimensions.<br />
<strong>TAG</strong> HEAD VOLUME:<br />
Junior 100cc Std Burette: 10.0cc Min Digital: 9.6cc Min<br />
Senior & Junior Extreme 115cc Std Burette: 11.0cc Min Digital: 10.6cc Min<br />
<strong>TAG</strong> EXHAUST SYSTEM: It is permissible to run on all <strong>BT82</strong> <strong>TAG</strong> engines only, the larger 45mm O/D<br />
<strong>TKM</strong> Exhaust Manifold together with matching Exhaust Flex, Flex Ring and Exhaust. This <strong>TKM</strong> <strong>TAG</strong><br />
Exhaust system must be as supplied by <strong>Tal</strong>-<strong>Ko</strong> with no modifications. It is permissible to change the<br />
lengths of the exhaust flex.<br />
