Mechatronics is the integration and application of
precision mechanical engineering, control theory,
computer science and electronics to create more
functional and adaptable products. The term was first
coined in the late 1960s by an engineer at Yaskawa
Electric Corporation, and quickly spread in Japan, where
it was recognized that approximately 80% of manufacturing
products and processes are mechatronic in
content.
A world-leading manufacturer of industrial robots, servos,
controllers and automation products, Yaskawa is a partner
in Intelitek’s sister company, Yaskawa Eshed Technology
