Threadlocking<br />

� Invented by Loctite to lock and seal threaded fasteners<br />

� Specified by Automotive OEM’S<br />

� Works by filling the spaces between threads<br />

� Provide a secure, one piece assembly that will not loosen<br />

under stress<br />

Practical Hints:<br />

® � Clean parts with Loctite 7063 before applying the adhesive<br />

� If the threadlocker is applied below 5°C, pre-treat with<br />

Loctite ® 7240 (Activator)<br />

� If the parts were in contact with aqueous washing solutions<br />

or cutting fluids which leave a protective layer on the surface,<br />

wash with hot water before use<br />

� Anaerobic products cure between metal surfaces in the<br />

absence of air<br />
