reason for such labored arguments to<br />
prove it has a sex significance.<br />
8:3.5 Thus, while I recognize the<br />
existence of such a grouping of psychic<br />
powers in the human mind as Freud<br />
designates by the term libido, I do not<br />
assign to it anything like the all-dominant<br />
role that Freud does. I prefer to discuss<br />
each case in the light of the actual<br />
findings in it—findings which can be<br />
naturally <strong>and</strong> easily recognized, <strong>and</strong><br />
which do not require that we assume so<br />
much of Freudian philosophy <strong>and</strong><br />

certain group of psychic conflicts, it is<br />
sometimes well to view the human mind<br />
after the manner of the later Freudian<br />
concept of a limited libido <strong>and</strong> the ego.<br />

This concept of psychic activity consists<br />
