California Epsilon House Corporation
924 Westwood Blvd., Suite 550
Los Angeles, CA 90024
Dear Gentlemen:
I am thrilled to hear of your decision to rebuild the chapter house. I believe your project will enhance our
community and help to establish an additional set of expectations for other fraternities to follow. I know
that the alumni board has worked tirelessly to make this project possible, and I am eager for the day when
I will have a grand tour of your new home.
With the long-standing relationship that Phi Kappa Psi has with the University of California, Los Angeles
and fraternity and sorority relations, I believe that Phi Kappa Psi members will continue to be leaders on
campus, adding to the rich tradition of the campus and Greek community. The physical facility is badly
in need of improvement and will provide chapter members with a new sense of ownership and a healthier
and cleaner place to call home. Throughout my tenure, Greek-life students who have a physical structure
that they are proud to call home tend to take risk management, themselves and their fraternal obligations
much more seriously. I know that the men will have a greater sense of pride for themselves and Phi
Kappa Psi when the new structure is completed.
The standards for student housing at the University of California, Los Angeles are increasing each year.
In our new residence halls and in apartments off campus, students are provided with sufficient study space
and technology to support their complex lifestyles and their academic work. As new fraternities are coming
onto campus and other houses are being remodeled, there has been an increase in recruitment numbers,
more involvement from alumni and better programs due to nicer and quieter spaces. With the new
structure, Phi Kappa Psi will continue to be competitive with other fraternities and will have a new
“product” that they can sell to potential new members.
I strongly support our fraternities and sororities and greatly value the contribution that Phi Kappa Psi
makes to the quality of student life at the University. I do hope that the chapter’s alumni will respond to
the capital campaign with a degree of generosity that reflects both appreciation for what Phi Psi has done
for them and a desire to see the chapter move into its next century. I know this is a hearty project to
undertake and I support your endeavors.
Sincerely,
Mande Adams
