7.3 Anchorages<br />

The suggested anchorage position is within one nautical mile <strong>of</strong> the pilot boarding ground<br />

remaining outside the port limits. For the latest information on anchorages, refer to the Notice to<br />

Mariners for the <strong>Port</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Abbot</strong> <strong>Point</strong> at http://www.msq.qld.gov.au/Notices-to-Mariners/Ntm-abbotpoint.aspx.<br />

7.4 Berth Facilities<br />

The port currently has two operational bulk coal loading berths.<br />

7.4.1 Berth 1<br />

The berth length for Berth 1 is 268 m. There are seven breasting dolphins equipped with<br />

Bridgestone energy absorbing cell-type rubber fenders. The height <strong>of</strong> the top <strong>of</strong> the fenders<br />

above datum is about 7.5 m and the height <strong>of</strong> underside <strong>of</strong> the fenders above the datum is about<br />

0.9 m. The berth pocket is 512 m long x 70 m wide (Maritime Safety <strong>Queensland</strong> 2010).<br />

7.4.2 Berth 2<br />

The berth length for Berth 2 is approximately 252 m. There are seven breasting dolphins<br />

equipped with Bridgestone energy absorbing cell-type rubber fenders. The height <strong>of</strong> the top <strong>of</strong><br />

the fenders above datum is about 8.05 m and the height <strong>of</strong> underside <strong>of</strong> the fenders above the<br />

datum is about -0.26 m.<br />

The berth pocket is 480 m long x 70 m wide. Please note that 60 m overlaps with berth pocket 1.
