DDU Regulations
2.4 Before admission to the DDU each applicant must provide certified evidence that they
are:
a) A Fellow of one of the colleges listed below
OR
b) currently employed as a Registrar
AND
In the third or subsequent year of a specialist Fellowship training
program with one of the colleges listed below:
• Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and
Gynaecologists (RANZCOG)
• Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP)
• Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR)
• Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS)
• Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA)
• Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO)
• Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM)
• College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM) OR
• Have an equivalent qualification in one of these disciplines which is
recognised by the relevant College and the ASUM Council.
2.5 Application for Admission to the DDU
2.5.1 All applications for enrolment and admission to the assessments for the DDU must be
made on the forms supplied by ASUM in the DDU section of the ASUM website
(www.asum.com.au) for the relevant year of assessment.
2.5.2 Correspondence will not be entered into concerning a candidate’s status until an
application form has been received.
2.5.3 The application form, accompanied by the assessment fee, must be received by the
Secretary of ASUM on or before the advertised closing date for the appropriate
assessment. Incomplete applications will be returned. It is the candidate’s
responsibility to ensure that the completed application is received at the ASUM office
on, or before the closing date.
2.5.4 Candidates who are denied admission to the assessment will receive a full refund.
2.5.5 All candidates for the DDU must be financial ASUM members at the time of enrolment
and maintain ASUM membership until their Diploma is granted or until they withdraw.
