<strong>DDU</strong> <strong>Regulations</strong><br />

2.4 Be<strong>for</strong>e admission to the <strong>DDU</strong> each applicant must provide certified evidence that they<br />

are:<br />

a) A Fellow of one of the colleges listed below<br />

OR<br />

b) currently employed as a Registrar<br />

AND<br />

In the third or subsequent year of a specialist Fellowship tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g<br />

program with one of the colleges listed below:<br />

• Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and<br />

Gynaecologists (RANZCOG)<br />

• Royal <strong>Australasian</strong> College of Physicians (RACP)<br />

• Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR)<br />

• Royal <strong>Australasian</strong> College of Surgeons (RACS)<br />

• Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA)<br />

• Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO)<br />

• <strong>Australasian</strong> College of Emergency Medic<strong>in</strong>e (ACEM)<br />

• College of Intensive Care Medic<strong>in</strong>e (CICM) OR<br />

• Have an equivalent qualification <strong>in</strong> one of these discipl<strong>in</strong>es which is<br />

recognised by the relevant College and the ASUM Council.<br />

2.5 Application <strong>for</strong> Admission to the <strong>DDU</strong><br />

2.5.1 All applications <strong>for</strong> enrolment and admission to the assessments <strong>for</strong> the <strong>DDU</strong> must be<br />

made on the <strong>for</strong>ms supplied by ASUM <strong>in</strong> the <strong>DDU</strong> section of the ASUM website<br />

(www.asum.com.au) <strong>for</strong> the relevant year of assessment.<br />

2.5.2 Correspondence will not be entered <strong>in</strong>to concern<strong>in</strong>g a candidate’s status until an<br />

application <strong>for</strong>m has been received.<br />

2.5.3 The application <strong>for</strong>m, accompanied by the assessment fee, must be received by the<br />

Secretary of ASUM on or be<strong>for</strong>e the advertised clos<strong>in</strong>g date <strong>for</strong> the appropriate<br />

assessment. Incomplete applications will be returned. It is the candidate’s<br />

responsibility to ensure that the completed application is received at the ASUM office<br />

on, or be<strong>for</strong>e the clos<strong>in</strong>g date.<br />

2.5.4 Candidates who are denied admission to the assessment will receive a full refund.<br />

2.5.5 All candidates <strong>for</strong> the <strong>DDU</strong> must be f<strong>in</strong>ancial ASUM members at the time of enrolment<br />

and ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong> ASUM membership until their Diploma is granted or until they withdraw.<br />
