2.6.2 Associate Cl<strong>in</strong>ical Supervisor<br />
2.6.2.1 All practitioners <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> cl<strong>in</strong>ical supervision of a candidate who will be responsible<br />
<strong>for</strong> any assessment or verification of practice must be approved by the <strong>DDU</strong> Board of<br />
Exam<strong>in</strong>ers prior to their commencement of the cl<strong>in</strong>ical supervision <strong>for</strong> the purposes of<br />
the <strong>DDU</strong> requirements.<br />
2.6.2.2 If the Primary Cl<strong>in</strong>ical Supervisor nom<strong>in</strong>ates an Associate Cl<strong>in</strong>ical Supervisor a<br />
nom<strong>in</strong>ation of Cl<strong>in</strong>ical Supervisor Form must be submitted to ASUM.<br />
2.6.2.3 The Associate Cl<strong>in</strong>ical Supervisor must:<br />
• Be a medical specialist<br />
• Hold a ultrasound qualification or accreditation<br />
• Have two years cl<strong>in</strong>ical ultrasound experience follow<strong>in</strong>g the atta<strong>in</strong>ment of their<br />
ultrasound qualification or accreditation.<br />
• Be an Accredited Medical Sonographer (AMS)<br />
or<br />
• Have a m<strong>in</strong>imum of three years full-time equivalent experience as an AMS<br />
• Have extensive experience and/or qualifications <strong>in</strong> cl<strong>in</strong>ical supervision and<br />
assessment <strong>in</strong> the cl<strong>in</strong>ical ultrasound sett<strong>in</strong>g. Evidence must be submitted to<br />
demonstrate this (eg Certificate IV or Graduate Certificate <strong>in</strong> workplace<br />
assessment or tertiary education; certificate of completion of a suitable<br />
exam<strong>in</strong>er/assessor workshop such as offered by ASUM or the Australian<br />
Institute of <strong>Ultrasound</strong> AIU; letter of appo<strong>in</strong>tment as a tutor sonographer or<br />
university cl<strong>in</strong>ical supervisor and/or assessor <strong>in</strong> the area of ultrasound).<br />
2.7 Application <strong>for</strong> Admission to Module 3<br />
2.7.1 Be<strong>for</strong>e admission to Module 3 each candidate must:<br />
i. Successfully complete Modules 1 and 2 and<br />
ii.<br />
iii.<br />
Have completed a m<strong>in</strong>imum of eighteen (18) months experience <strong>in</strong> the practice of<br />
diagnostic ultrasound prior to undertak<strong>in</strong>g the oral assessment.<br />
Provide certified evidence that they are a Fellow of the:<br />
• Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and<br />
Gynaecologists (RANZCOG),<br />
• Royal <strong>Australasian</strong> College of Physicians (RACP),<br />
• Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR)<br />
• Royal <strong>Australasian</strong> College of Surgeons (RACS),<br />
• Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA),<br />
