BIRA~INGHAMMUSEUMand An Gallery Committee decided
today to buy the fossilised skull of a triceratops from the American
Museum of Narural History for about L7oo. At present there are
only two in Britain, and Birmingham hopes to have the th,ird early
next year. The skull, six feet in length, weighs nearly half a ton.
It was dug up in Nevada. The triceratops was a mild-mannered,
plant-eating dinosaur, looking somethine like a rhinoceros, al-
though it had three horns and a bony fnll to protect its neck. -

And trumpet our treasure, the triceratops; Probing our present prevailing austerity,
Edgbastodon! Here's something more than a mastodon!
