Year 7 Outward Bound Programme<br />
As part <strong>of</strong> our specialism in outdoor learning we are looking forward to taking all Year 7 students to the Lake District<br />
to complete their first Outward Bound course. This course meets a number <strong>of</strong> the seven key values <strong>of</strong> <strong>Macmillan</strong><br />
<strong>Academy</strong>, notably, learning that inspires a commitment to sustainability and personal care and development.<br />
<strong>Macmillan</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> has been working with Outward Bound for over ten years. In the last year Outward Bound has<br />
completed a substantial refurbishment <strong>of</strong> their facilities, improving the residential accommodation, catering and<br />
outdoor facilities.<br />
The students will be going to Outward Bound Howtown in bands accompanied by their tutors. The dates are<br />
published in the table below.<br />

Finance<br />
The financial parental contribution to the Outward Bound course is £135.00, a reduced amount due to bursary and<br />
subsidy. A deposit <strong>of</strong> £45.00 to be returned with the reply slip attached and is required by Friday 19 September to<br />
secure a place.<br />
Further payments are required according to the payment plan below:<br />
26 September 2009 Deposit £45.00<br />
23 October 2009 Payment £45.00<br />
7 November 2009 Final Payment £45.00<br />
All payments need to be made to the Cashier during break times and lunch times.<br />
Medical Form<br />
Please ensure that the Outward Bound Medical form is returned to the <strong>Academy</strong> with the reply slip and deposit to<br />
the <strong>Academy</strong> cashiers.<br />
