<strong>Community</strong> <strong>Legal</strong> Education Ontario (CLEO) is seeking a person to serve as our community<br />

<strong>outreach</strong> <strong>coordinator</strong> on a four day per week, temporary contract basis. CLEO is a legal clinic<br />

that develops and delivers public legal education and information (PLEI) to low-income and<br />

disadvantaged communities across Ontario, and supports the community services sector in<br />

Ontario in their PLEI activities.<br />

The <strong>coordinator</strong> will facilitate CLEO’s <strong>outreach</strong> activities in all parts of Ontario, to create and<br />

strengthen awareness of CLEO’s materials and programs, gather feedback and suggestions to<br />

inform CLEO’s existing services and the development of new initiatives, and support the<br />

community services sector in providing effective legal information and referral services to their<br />

clients. More specifically, the <strong>coordinator</strong> will:<br />

create or strengthen relationships and partnerships with organizations throughout the<br />

province that produce or provide PLEI to their communities<br />

develop and deliver workshops to support community organizations in providing effective<br />

legal information and referral to their clients and communities<br />

take a leadership role at CLEO in monitoring, improving, and integrating our <strong>outreach</strong><br />

activities<br />

assist in the development of a media/ communications strategy<br />

Travel within Ontario will be required.<br />

Demonstrated public education skills<br />

Demonstrated experience planning and facilitating informational and training workshops,<br />

and developing education resources and presentations for the public<br />

Excellent written and oral communication skills, including an understanding of adult<br />

education and clear language principles<br />

Relevant community development experience<br />

Extensive experience working with or knowledge of low-income and culturally diverse<br />

communities<br />

Program/ project management and evaluation experience<br />

Demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness<br />

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, writing and communication skills<br />

Willingness to travel across Ontario<br />

Very good computer skills, including database and contact relations management, and good<br />

knowledge of social media<br />

Assets:<br />

French speaking; good knowledge of Ontario; valid Ontario driver’s license<br />

Details:


This is a 28-hour per week, temporary contract position, with an anticipated start date in early<br />

to mid January, 2013, and an expected end date of September 30, 2013.<br />
