A Note from the President
Well ladies, it looks like the word has gotten out! Just take
a look at the number of new WTT members from January
through the end of May listed in this issue of the Travel
Letter and it will leave little doubt that a seismic shift has
occurred. Several independent events have come together
this year. First, the recession has finally loosened its grip
on the psyche of the nation and those with a job feel more
comfortable about making travel plans. Second, women
are now statistically the primary breadwinner giving them
more flexibility to make their own spending decisions than
at any time previously in U.S. history. Third, women are
starting to actively seek solutions to their travel dilemma
of no one to travel with instead of hoping and wishing.
Women Traveling Together is Growing!
Little ripples in a stream can often predict a coming flood,
and that’s the feeling we have had here at WTT for the
past few months. Membership has steadily grown, trips are
filling to capacity faster than ever, signups for our emailed
newsletter are increasingly and the number of “likes” on
our Facebook page is now over 1200. All of these indicators
point to more growth for Women Traveling Together.
What Growth Means for You

You might be wondering to yourself: “What’s this got to do with me” WTT’s growth means more trips to choose from, more
unique destinations, and more departure dates. If you haven’t already looked at the 2014 schedule you’re in for a surprise. There
are over 50 tours scheduled for next year; a 50% increase over 2013!
Growth can have some serious drawbacks if a company is not ready for it, but that’s not the case here. Knowing the personal
touch we give is critically important to Women Traveling Together’s success, we’ve long been preparing for this day to arrive,
knowing for a fact it would arrive. The back end systems we have been building over the last 16 years puts us in a unique position
to handle growth without losing the personal touch we’re so well known for.
There is a downside to all this popularity that affects you as well. With more women looking for travel, and a finite list of tours to
choose from, we anticipate our tours will fill up sooner than before…and that’s even hard for me to imagine. If the preliminary
activity on the first 20 tours posted already for 2014 is any indication, most of our 2014 tours will be sold out before 2013 ends.
We already have several 2014 tours more than ½ full and we have already received reservations for tours 15 months away.
The takeaway here is simple. While the travel opportunities are great, the 18 spaces available on the tour you are eyeing will fill
up faster than ever before. For that reason we will continue to keep you apprised of the spaces remaining as we have always done,
and to count down the final three spaces.
We’re working as quickly as we can to finish posting the 2014 tours and will make each tour available as we finish it–notifying
those with a Pre-Reservation first. I know it’s hard to think about next year when so many of you are still looking forward to your
2013 travel, but it never hurts to take a peek!
