force 13 Interdisciplinary Relationships force 14 Professional Development The Emergency Department 2009-2010 expansion plan includes both Express Admission Unit nurses and ED nurses to provide input into the design of a new 15 bed unit. Staff nurses designed the rooms and gave extensive recommendations for equipment. The OR at Community Campus reports that the use of Pathfinder (Computerized Patient Tracking System) has improved patient, family and physician satisfaction through a new family message board, automated paging system to alert orderlies to OR rooms and the availability of Pathfinder in the physician’s offices to track patient progress. CCU reports working with Safa Farzin, MD, Pulmonary and Critical Care, to create a central line insertion kit to be used throughout the system as a best practice example. The Annual Nursing Research Conference provides an opportunity for nurses from all levels of practice to present posters on nursing research, evidence-based practice, collaboration and clinical outcomes. Posters are judged by a review panel and nurses receive contact hours for the poster sessions.
