George Lailey – Thank you
Following publication in the July
issue of this magazine, I was delighted
to receive several responses from
readers after seeing the article about
was emailed a photo of a lovely old
watercolour painting of his workshop
various bowls. My very special thanks
must go to Paula and Colin for their generosity
and kindness in giving me some
wonderful and varied examples of his
workmanship. There was also another
gentleman who rang me to say he found
what he believed to be a Lailey bowl in
his garage when he moved into a new
house, but unfortunately I have mislaid
his number and hope that he contacts
me again as I would very much like to
follow it up.
I consider myself very lucky
indeed to have been given some inter-
