• What is the KaleidoCrete system?
The KaleidoCrete system consists of three reciprocal impacting tools that are
used with design templates to engrave existing concrete anywhere. Rather
than using a blade to cut the concrete, KaleidoCrete tools use high-speed
impactor teeth to strike the concrete surface, knocking off tiny bits to leave a
detailed cut. Usually the concrete is stained prior to engraving to bring out the
design.
• What are the tools?
The largest tool in the KaleidoCrete family is the Mochton Stylus Shark. It has
64 high-speed impactor teeth and is perfect for the largest engraving jobs.
The mid-sized Mochton Stylus Barracuda has 29 replaceable impactors and is
great for getting into hard-to-reach places and cutting intricate designs.
The Mini-Mochton Stylus Wasp has a single reciprocating cutter, known as a
Stinger, and works well for touch-ups and adding the finest of details.
The tools are sold separately, or the entire system is available in the Kaleido-
Crete Pro Pack.
• What can KaleidoCrete be used for?
These super-versatile tools can change concrete of any age to thousands of
patterns and designs, whether it be simple flagstones or the most intricate
corporate logo. KaleidoCrete can be used by itself or with any of the other
Engrave-A-Crete systems to add decorative or functional elements to living
spaces, walkways, patios, pool decks, basements, garage floors, retail spaces
or anywhere you have plain, gray existing concrete. And don’t overlook vertical
surfaces! KaleidoCrete tools are great for engraving garden walls, steps,
basement walls, or adding house numbers and other design elements to
exterior walls. The possibilities are absolutely endless!
• Where do I get designs?
Choose from our most popular template designs featured in this catalog, or
browse through hundreds of other images on our website. If you don’t find
what you’re looking for, give us a call. We have an unpublished library of over
100,000 designs and corporate logos. We can also fabricate a custom template
from your photo, line drawing, or idea in any size you need. We can create
anything you can imagine!
• Can I reuse the templates?
KaleidoCrete templates are precision manufactured from dense plastic panels.
They are waterproof, UV stable, impact resistant, and can be cleaned and used
over and over. Many templates are reversible, so you can use both sides to
get more life out of them. KaleidoCrete templates will flex over most bumps
in the concrete without cracking or breaking. When finished, simply lay them
flat and they will return to their original shape. All KaleidoCrete templates are
100% recyclable.
