ROAD TO VICTORY
(ALSO TITLED
THE SHINING FUTURE),
1944, WARNER BROS.
This is a 10-minute documentary intended
to drum up support for the Fifth
War Loan Campaign during World War II.
It shows a happy family in the future of
1951 enjoying the prosperity and advantages
made possible by the successful prosecution
of the war and how the sacrifices
of 1944 have made the world a better place.
There are brief appearances by such movie
stars as Bing Crosby, Cary Grant, Frank
Sinatra and Jack Carson, as well as the
big bands of Benny Goodman and Harry
James. 5 Unfortunately, the writer found no
images or a video of this documentary in
researching this series.
