The call for ETFA’12 papers attracted a great number of 404 papers. This year we
had 266 submissions of regular papers from 43 countries. All the submissions were
thoroughly reviewed by the program committee of their respective track. To ensure
a high standard of the conference, each paper was sent to a minimum of three
reviewers. Based on the judgments, the Track Co-Chairs selected the contributions
to be accepted as regular papers or to be accepted as Works-in-Progress (WiP)
or Industry Practice (IP) papers. Special Session papers were reviewed within the
relevant main Tracks to ensure a harmonized review process for all the conference
papers. At the end, 112 contributions were finally accepted as full papers in regular
Tracks and 42 in Special Sessions. Compiling the track committees and managing
the review process in a timely manner was a tough work. We are really grateful to
the Track Chairs, who accomplished this critical task.
It is also a tradition of ETFA conferences to provide a platform for ongoing research
work and industry ideas at the forefront of technology. For this purpose we have a
session for WiP as well as IP. This year we received a total of 98 submissions of WiP/IP
papers, in addition to the 40 papers that were invited among the rejected Regular and
Special Session papers. At the end, 106 papers were selected to be included in the WiP/
IP program of ETFA’12. We would like to thank the Work-in-Progress Co-Chairs Javier
Silvestre Blanes and Zoubir Mammeri for the organization of the WiP/IP program.
For years the ETFA conferences are honored by a presence of excellent keynote
speakers. This year we are very happy to welcome in this role Kai Hansen, Ronald
Schoop, Jacek M. Zurada and Rolf Ernst.
Such a big event like the ETFA’12 would not be possible without hard work and
support of many persons and organizations. In this place we would particularly like
to greatly thank the General Co-Chairs Marek Miśkowicz and Richard Zurawski for
their support and guidance.
