Sir Winston was not only one of La Mamounia's famous guests, but one of its most faidiful. The hotel named one
of the most charming suites in his honour, which David and Lynn Druckman were permitted to visit on behalf of
Finest Hour. (See also page 25.) Everything in it is English: Chesterfield furniture, a regency desk, English wood
paneling. It is a small museum to the great man, with original documents and photographs, a copy of one of his
hats and umbrella. A reminder of why Churchill loved to come to Marrakech is his easel, which stands in a corner
with an unfinished painting of the Mamounia gardens that he so loved to portray. But of all the "paintaceous"
views in Marrakech, Churchill most loved die distant prospect of the snow-capped Adas Mountains (below).
