Byung Ihn Choi<br />

Honorary Membership<br />
Byung Ihn Choi is Professor at the<br />
Department of Radiology of Seoul National<br />
University, College of Medicine in Korea and<br />
is an internationally recognised abdominal<br />
radiologist, particularly in the field of<br />
hepatobiliary imaging. Having worked at a<br />
variety of institutions across the USA and in<br />
Tokyo between 1985 and 1994, Dr. Choi has<br />
greatly contributed to the international profile<br />
of Korean radiology. Throughout his career he<br />
has published more than 600 scientific papers,<br />
while also serving on the editorial boards of<br />
numerous national and international journals.<br />
He is currently president of the Asian Oceanian<br />
Society of Radiology (AOSR), and the Korean<br />
Association for the Study of the Liver (KASL),<br />
and president-elect of the Asian Society<br />
of Abdominal Radiology (ASAR), and his<br />
contributions to international radiology have<br />
led to honorary membership of many regional<br />
and international radiological societies. He<br />
will be awarded Honorary Membership of the<br />
European Society of Radiology at ECR 2011.<br />
Jian-Ping Dai<br />

Jian-Ping Dai is a professor at the Radiology<br />
Department of the Beijing Neurosurgical<br />
Institute and Beijing Tiantan Hospital,<br />
Capital Medical University, where he is also<br />
chairman of his department. He is a tireless<br />
educator and tutor and is well known as<br />
one of the most influential characters in the<br />
development of radiology in China. Dr. Dai<br />
has focused his research on interventional<br />
therapy for cerebrovascular disease and<br />
functional neuroimaging and has received<br />
several awards from the Chinese government<br />
for his outstanding contribution to his country.<br />
During his presidency of the Chinese Society<br />
of Radiology from 1996 to 2005, radiology<br />
in China accelerated its development and<br />
communication with other radiological<br />
societies such as the European Society of<br />
Radiology, the Radiological Society of North<br />
America, and the Asian Oceanian Society of<br />
Radiology. At ECR 2011 Dr. Dai will receive<br />
Honorary Membership of the European<br />
Society of Radiology..<br />
Hedvig Hricak<br />

Honorary Membership<br />
Hedvig Hricak is Chairman of the Department<br />
of Radiology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering<br />
Cancer Center (MSKCC) and Professor of<br />
Radiology at the Weill Medical College of<br />
Cornell University. She was previously a<br />
professor of radiology, radiation oncology,<br />
urology and gynaecology at the University of<br />
California at San Francisco. She has authored<br />
or co-authored 343 peer-reviewed original<br />
research articles, 159 review/editorial articles,<br />
132 book chapters and 18 books, and given<br />
more than 135 named or keynote lectures.<br />
She is a member of the Institute of Medicine,<br />
National Academy of Science. She is a fellow<br />
of the American College of Radiology, the<br />
International Society for Magnetic Resonance<br />
in Medicine, and the Society of Uroradiology<br />
and her many awards include the gold medals<br />
of the International Society for Magnetic<br />
Resonance in Medicine and the Association<br />
of University Radiologists, the Béclère Medal<br />
from the International Society of Radiology, the<br />
Moroccan Merit Medal from the International<br />
Society of Radiology and the Order of the<br />
Croatian Morning Star of Katarina Zrinska,<br />
Presidential Award from Croatia. Dr. Hricak<br />
is the current Immediate Past President of<br />
the Radiological Society of North America.<br />
At ECR 2011 she will be awarded Honorary<br />
Membership of the European Society of<br />
Radiology.<br />
