Inver Hills Community College Foundation
In 2009, the Inver Hills Foundation continued
to fulfi ll its mission to help students succeed by
awarding $154,625 in scholarships to 220 students.
Over the last three years, the Inver Hills
Community College Foundation has distributed
over $444,346 in scholarship funds to 555 students.
Challenge grants from the Katherine B. Andersen
Fund of The Saint Paul Foundation and the
Friends of Dennis Anderson were matched by
alumni to grow the Alumni Scholarship Endowment
Fund to over $67,000.
The Foundation kicked off the Forty for 40
Legacy Society Campaign to grow to the scholarship
endowment to $1,000,000. A matching grant
of $125,000 from the Katherine B. Andersen fund
of The Saint Paul Foundation will help reach this
goal.
Gifts from the Kopp Foundation and Inver
Hills employees allowed the foundation to give
over $17,000 in small, emergency grants to students
to help them stay in college.
The popular Forrest Glewwe Golf Classic, held
each year in June, raised over $25,000 to support
the work of the Foundation.

Partnerships and Grants
IHCC’s Center for Professional and Workforce
Development implemented the following Minnesota
Job Skills Partnership and National Science
Foundation grants during FY09.
• $377,000 to provide online safety training for
3000 employees at Xcel Energy
• $300,000 to provide quality processes training
for 250 employees at Regina Medical Center
• $286,000 to provide dementia training for 400
employees at Ebenezer Ridges Care Center.
• $243,000 to provide IP telephony training
for 110 employees at Thomson Reuters, Blue
Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, US Bank,
Qwest Communications, Technology Management
Corporation, TelEd, and Spamlink.
• $78,320 from the National Science Foundation
to provide high school outreach, student
internships, faculty development, and curriculum
in VoIP.
The college continues to manage
its budget and resources effectively,
look ahead to identify needs and
plan for change, review and adjust
operations, and seek out partners
to provide fi nancial and in-kind
support.
