THIRTY-EIGHT MEMBERS OF<br />

THE CLASS OF 1960 attended<br />

their 50th reunion with unmatched<br />

enthusiasm. On Saturday, they were<br />

recognized with the Nancy Dowd<br />

Burton Award, having contributed<br />

the largest unrestricted Annual Fund<br />

gift during the reunion year. ey<br />

also received the Centennial Award,<br />

recognizing the class with the largest<br />

total giving to all funds of the <strong>College</strong><br />

since their previous reunion<br />

celebration. With the highest<br />

participation in Annual Fund giving<br />

among classes celebrating their 25th<br />

through 50th reunions, 1960 received<br />

the Participation Award as well.<br />

Reunion Weekend 2010<br />

THREE HuNDRED TWO ALuMNAE RETuRNED TO CAMPuS for<br />

the celebration of Reunion 2010. During the wellness-themed weekend,<br />

President Jo ellen Parker joined alumnae for an intense Nia workout, Fannie<br />

Zollicoffer Mallonee ’80 led a yoga class and the Fitness and Athletics Center<br />

was open for racquetball, tennis, swimming, jogging and more. Other offerings<br />

included an art exhibition by Jill Steenhuis ’80, a book club with writer-inresidence<br />

Carrie Brown, an introduction to Facebook with Professor Lisa<br />

Johnston and more.<br />

At the Reunion Celebration Luncheon, elvira McMillan tate ’65 was<br />

recognized as the 2010 Outstanding Alumna, having served as a leader for the<br />

Atlanta Alumnae Club, a faithful attendee of alumnae events, a member of the<br />

board of directors and a tremendous supporter of the <strong>College</strong>’s initiatives in<br />

many areas. Awards were given to recognize several classes, in particular the<br />

Class of 1960, celebrating its 50th reunion.<br />

Perhaps one of the most notable events, one that doesn’t occur each year,<br />

was the ring game, played by the class of 1985 at their 25th reunion celebration<br />

dinner announcing Heidi Belofsky turk’s recent engagement to Dr. George<br />

Everly Jr. As twilight settled over the lake, a cheer went up from the boathouse<br />

deck when Heidi seized her ring.<br />
