Carolyn Eney Miller married Matthew<br />

Miller on 5/29/10 on Seabrook Island,<br />

SC. Serving as bridesmaids were Meg<br />

Foley, Sara Kemper, Allison Albanis<br />

Strohmeyer, and Sara Miller ’02. Blair<br />

Baigent was a reader. Other SBC<br />

guests included Emma Kate<br />

Payne, Natasha Ungerer and Eliza<br />

Chenault Hamnett ’02. It was a wonderful<br />

weekend and a mini reunion for all of<br />

them!<br />

Courtney Yerdon Gleason started a<br />

graduate program at UNC-Charlotte and<br />

will graduate next summer. She saw<br />

Samira Hossain ’05 in D.C. and at her<br />

wedding in Mexico earlier this summer.<br />

She continues to visit with Lindsay<br />

Kinyon Ashton and Lara Hansen. She’s<br />

looking forward to attending Homecoming<br />

with Lindsay, Danielle Ross Oberg,<br />

and me this fall!<br />

Nahliah Webber received her M.A. in<br />

sociology and education from Teachers<br />

Coll. at Columbia U., and is a dir. of<br />

youth programs for Phipps Community<br />

Development Corp., a Manhattan nonprofit.<br />

She had a mini reunion with<br />

Kaneia Mayo and Christina Burroughs<br />

’04 in 07/10.<br />

Michaela Krohn graduated Magna<br />

Cum Laude from Life Chiropractic Coll.<br />

West on 06/05/10 and is now a Dr. of<br />

Chiropractic. She’ll be moving to AK in<br />

8/10 to practice; until then, she’s been<br />

hanging out with Emma Kate in the Bay<br />

Area.<br />

Rachel Howell Smith had 1st son Duncan<br />

McAuley Smith on 07/07/09.<br />

Amanda Carpenter Page lives in<br />

Bedford County, VA with her husband<br />

and son (20 mos.) She works for the local<br />

dept. of social services as a foster<br />

care worker. She and her husband have<br />

been married for 2 yrs. and are hoping<br />

to add another child to their family very<br />

soon, as well as moving into their new<br />

house.<br />

I, Courtney Arnott Silverthorn, attended<br />

a mini reunion dinner in D.C. on<br />

6/26/10. Although I was the only representative<br />

from the Class of ’03, I had a<br />

blast hanging out with Katie Marie<br />

Vaughan ’06. I also completed my 1st<br />

sprint triathlon on 6/20/10, and am<br />

training for my 2nd on 9/19/10. I too<br />

am looking forward to Homecoming with<br />

Courtney, Danielle and Lindsay in 9/10!<br />

Leah Philhower was promoted and is<br />

taking over the Victoria’s Secret in<br />

Greenville, SC. She moved to Taylors,<br />

SC in Jul.<br />

Stacey Maddox finished her 1st yr.<br />

of medical school at the West Virginia<br />

School of Osteopathic Medicine and<br />

was awarded a MOSS scholarship for<br />

out-of-state students. She spent the<br />

summer at her home in Scottsville, VA,<br />

resting and studying for boards. She<br />

and husband Rodney Hammack celebrated<br />

their 6th wedding anniv. in<br />

Puerto Escondido, Mexico in Jul. Stacey<br />

moved back to Lewisburg, WV into a<br />

new, larger house and is excited about<br />

her 2nd yr. of medical school!<br />

Jozanne Summerville spent a month<br />

gallivanting in South Africa for the 2010<br />

World Cup! An incredible experience of<br />

new places, people and animals! She’s<br />

happy to be back in D.C. to enjoy the<br />

summer events and prepare for her next<br />

holiday in fall. She’s in the midst of an<br />

M.B.A. program at the U. of MD and still<br />

working for the U.S. Navy.<br />

Tasha Purcell relocated from Las Vegas,<br />

NV, to Jackson Hole, WY, in 5/10<br />

to take a position with the Teton Science<br />

Schools, loves it! She’s exploring<br />

one of the most beautiful places in the<br />

country (almost as beautiful at <strong>Sweet</strong><br />

<strong>Briar</strong>, VA!) She plans to complete her<br />

1st century ride in Aug! In 1/10, Tasha<br />

flew in from Vegas to meet up<br />

with Maria Kitchin and Laura Pearson in<br />

Charlottesville, VA.<br />

Camille Simmons is enjoying summer<br />

break from teaching Spanish in<br />

Bermuda and had a wonderful time traveling<br />

to D.C. and VA to catch up<br />

with Hailey Hermosa, Khadine Fisher,<br />

and Caville Stanbury ’06 this summer.<br />

Schyler Ellis Burke, husband Peter<br />

and son John Richard welcomed 2nd<br />

child Victoria Katherine Burke on<br />

3/16/10 at 7lbs, 5 oz and 18 ¾ in. Peter<br />

was promoted with Halliburton and<br />

chosen to move back to WV from TX.<br />

Kerry Keins Mutschelknaus and Joe<br />

welcomed 1st son Connor Joseph on<br />

7/17/10. He weighed 9lbs, 13oz. Connor<br />

Joseph is the grandson of Kristi<br />

Karpinski Mutschelklnaus ’77. Kerry,<br />

Joe and Connor live in Arlington, VA, with<br />

2 black labs.<br />

Ashleigh Kresslein saw Virginia<br />

Fowler Voigt at her wedding on 4/17 at<br />

SBC where she was a bridesmaid. Other<br />

SBC bridesmaids were Erin Keck Walsh<br />

’03 and Karen Dennehy Godsey ’05.<br />

Ashleigh is engaged and living in<br />

Charleston, SC, with her fiance, 2 labs<br />

and cat.<br />

Breanne Leibering moved to Richmond<br />

in 7/10 to accept a teaching position<br />

at Cosby High School in Midlothian,<br />

VA. She’ll be living with Virginia Everett<br />

’07 and teaching 10th grade and is excited<br />

to spend time with her SBC friends<br />

in Richmond, like Kelli Bergmann<br />

Thomasson.<br />

Kelli Bergmann Thomasson relocated<br />

with her husband to Hanover Co.,<br />

VA, where they reside in the home her<br />

husband grew up in. In addition to the<br />

move, Kelli has landed a new job as an<br />

online instructor for h. s. AP courses<br />

and is excited to work from home.<br />

Elissa Davis joined the circus. And by<br />

circus, I mean the Florida Public School<br />

System as a teacher.<br />

In Jul., Sarah Ruff and Kirkland<br />

Wohlrab had lunch in Boston. Later that<br />

mo., Sarah travelled with Sue<br />

Knouse ’05 to TX for Sue to start her<br />

M.A.<br />

Jennifer Burton is living in Memphis,<br />

TN, working on her M.F.A. at U. of Memphis.<br />

She’s expecting a boy, “Pace,”<br />

due in 9/10.<br />

Sarah Elizabeth Bohn is serving the<br />

Kyrgyz Republic as a U.S. Peace Corps<br />

NGO development volunteer. She is also<br />

a master’s candidate at the School for<br />

International Training- Graduate Institute.<br />

Sarah hopes to complete her thesis<br />

on Post Conflict Development soon.<br />

Mary Morris Park and husband<br />

Robert had Colin Patrick on 1/19/10.<br />

Colin joins Ethan (4) and Davis (2). Mary<br />

is still working as dir. of children and<br />

youth at First Presbyterian Church in<br />

Bluefield, WV, and working on her master’s<br />

at Union Presbyterian Seminary in<br />

Richmond. Mary saw Autum Matysek-<br />

Snyder Fish, son Xavier and husband<br />

Jeremiah on 7/31 in Waynesboro for<br />

lunch.<br />

Nicole Basbanes unexpectedly received<br />

an opportunity to work as a Primary<br />

School Librarian at Fay School in<br />

Southborough, MA (her old middle<br />

school, no less) for the 2010/11 school<br />

yr., creating a new library for Pre-K to<br />

Kindergarten students. She’ll be trading<br />

in her 3 jobs in Washington, D.C., as a<br />

medical librarian, music archivist and a<br />

personal assistant to Linda Reynolds<br />

Stern ’66. While they’re sad not to work<br />

together anymore, they’ll remain lifelong<br />

friends and plan to keep in touch.<br />

Mindy Wolfrom returned to SBC in<br />

May and saw several alumnae at Reunion<br />

2010. She completed her 1st yr.<br />

of teaching Latin and an honors philosophy<br />

course at a public h. s. in Haverhill,<br />

MA. She sees Michelle Badger ’06 and<br />

others at the Alumnae Club of Boston’s<br />

gatherings.<br />

Amanda Watts and James Moffett<br />

are engaged to be married on 4/9/11<br />

in IL! Amanda still works for the federal<br />

government as a forensic document examiner,<br />

loves her job. She and Jimmy reside<br />

in Arlington, VA, and will start the<br />

house-hunting adventure soon.<br />

Denva Jackson completed her teaching<br />

position at the MATCH charter h. s.<br />

in Boston, and she’ll be attending Harvard<br />

U. (7/10) to begin a Ph.D. program<br />

in art history.<br />

Christie Sears Thompson was married<br />

to Kevin Thompson (HSC ’07) on<br />

11/7/09 in SB’s chapel, reception at<br />

the Conference Center. She’s lived and<br />

worked in Denver since ’06. She works<br />

at Regis U. in the Academic Resources<br />

Dept., loves it! She started classes in<br />

Jan. to earn her M.A. in marriage and<br />

family therapy through Regis. It’ll take a<br />

few yrs. (she’s set to graduate in 1/14),<br />

but then she’ll be on the path towards<br />

her career as a professional therapist.<br />

She’s enjoying married life and living in<br />

CO.<br />

Jan Jennings Need and husband are<br />

expecting their 1st child.<br />

Miranda Zirbel Dobbins was married<br />

on 5/15/10 to Jim Dobbins in a small<br />

backyard wedding at her home on Wadmalaw<br />

Island, SC. Blair Cooper ’05 was<br />

an attendant. She’s working as a travel<br />

agent for AAA, loving it.<br />

Although Katharina Fritzler didn’t<br />

make it to reunion, she caught up with<br />

Mindy Wolfrom in May. Katharina has a<br />

new job working with Alzheimer’s patients<br />

as a recreational specialist. She<br />

loves it and has already received several<br />

marriage proposals from the patients.<br />

In her spare time, Katharina continues<br />

her journey as a cat lady; still<br />

loves rock climbing. This yr., she<br />

climbed in WV, NC and KY. While in KY,<br />

she saw Sabrina Via Scott ’03.<br />

Brentz Basten East had an awesome<br />

time at Reunion and looks forward to<br />

the next one. She and husband Matt are<br />

expecting their 2nd child in the beginning<br />

of Jan.<br />

Courtney Kiel was engaged to Ben<br />

LeBlanc during the summer. She’ll be<br />

getting married this spring!<br />

Krystal Dean Tucker completed her<br />

M. Ed. (7/09) in educational leadership<br />

from Longwood U. She’s been employed<br />

by Appomattox County Public Schools<br />

for the past 5 yrs. as a 5th grade language<br />

arts teacher. Krystal will be taking<br />

a yr. off, as she and her husband,<br />

Blake, plan to welcome their 1st child,<br />

Wyatt Blake Tucker, in Aug. Krystal and<br />

Blake reside in Keysville, VA, with<br />

Weimaraner Cooper. Krystal keeps in<br />

touch with Laura Brockman Bryan,<br />

Katie Niemeier, and Lyndsay Welsh<br />

Chamblin.<br />

Casey Poore Flippin is teaching 6th<br />

grade Science and History at Nottoway<br />

Intermediate School. She’s also teaching<br />

dance at a local studio. She and<br />

husband Dustin are still living in Amelia<br />

County and have a new addition to her<br />

family: beautiful daughter, Emory Aline<br />

Flippin, was born 6/5/09.<br />

Nell Champoux is in her 5th yr. of<br />

Ph.D. work in the Dept. of Religion at<br />

Syracuse U. and is writing her dissertation<br />

on medieval monastic magic. She<br />

loved seeing everyone at Reunion and<br />

had fun catching up with Denva Jackson<br />

over the summer in Boston.<br />

Ashley Forehand will be married to<br />

Jeff Oakley on 9/25/10.<br />

Katie Parnell Robinson and husband<br />

Donald (HSC ’02) welcomed their 1st<br />

child Elizabeth-Anne Donald Robinson<br />

on 5/26/10. She was 8lbs, 3.6 oz and<br />

21.75 in. She’s growing like a weed and<br />

they love every minute! Katie also enjoyed<br />

seeing Megen Blaesing ’07 and<br />

her sister Kirsten Blaesing ’11 in all the<br />

fun showers and parties for Megen’s<br />

upcoming nuptials! Katie is riding and<br />

looking forward to showing this yr!<br />

Sarah Kidd Burchett is living in Richmond<br />

and starts a new job as a medical<br />

aesthetician at Renew Dermatology on<br />

7/26. She’s super-excited about it,<br />

since she’s meeting one of her professional<br />

goals of working in a medical setting.<br />

She has a wonderful roommate<br />

and one cat to share the house<br />

with. She still rides for fun. Other than<br />

that, she’s just trying to survive being<br />

single and in the dating pool again!<br />

Michael had a baby boy, Charlie William<br />

Fleming, on 5/6/10. They’re living in<br />
