Communication workstation
The KAP400compact communications workstation is an operator terminal designed to
be used as a convenient system terminal for all kinds of different communication tasks.
It can be used in combination with the DIKOS 310 digital communication system, as well
as with all kinds of other different communication networks, e.g. VoIP networks, ISDN
networks of public and private network operators, GSM-R networks and digital trunked
mobile radio networks. Other applications are possible at any time due to its diverse interfaces
and software flexibility.
The KAP400compact communications workstation is aimed at customers who want to
combine a compact system terminal with the functional convenience of a computer-based
communications workstation.
The KAP400compact hardware platform consists of 2 system units; the TAC400 computer
and control unit and the SP400 call station unit. The TAC400 computer and
control unit can be used both in combination with the SP400 call station
unit or as a standalone device. The SP400 call station unit requires the
TAC400, or any other computer on which the KAP400x family software
is installed, to operate.
The display of the KAP400compact is hinge-mounted and can be continuously
adjusted and fixed within a range of around 10° to 80° degrees,
enabling individual adjustment of the monitor tilt to the installation
site or the subjective preferences of the user.
The whole system is operated via the integrated touchscreen, which
is covered with thermally toughened safety glass to increase system
robustness.
All the TAC 400’s connection elements and interfaces are
located at the rear of the unit and are fitted with interfacespecific
standard connectors.
The SP400 call station unit and any other USB devices, for example,
headsets, additional listen-in loudspeakers, etc., are connected
via USB ports.
The SP 400 call station unit provides all functions, connections, input and output (speaking
and listening) options necessary for convenient communication in the central communication
equipment environment.
