FACULTY BIOGRAPHIES<br />
Aric Attas received his B.S. in<br />
psychology with honors from Hobart<br />
College, and M.F.A. in photography<br />
from Hartford <strong>Art</strong> School. Aric has<br />
taught photography, art, web design<br />
and history <strong>of</strong> photography at Trinity<br />
College, Hartford <strong>Art</strong> School, and Tunxis<br />
Community College, among others.<br />

Walford Campbell attended the<br />
Walsall School <strong>of</strong> <strong>Art</strong> and Derby Lonsdale<br />
College in England. He served as the<br />
head <strong>of</strong> Ceramics at Solden Hill House<br />
in England, and taught at Edna Manley<br />
College in Kingston, Jamaica. Walford’s<br />
focus is on surface decoration and larger<br />
sculptural forms.<br />
Elise Carter received a B.F.A. from the<br />
University <strong>of</strong> Guelph and a B.Ed. from<br />
the University <strong>of</strong> Western Ontario. She<br />
has experience teaching students <strong>of</strong> all<br />
ages, in both the public school system<br />
and as a private instructor.<br />
Sean Clinton graduated from the<br />
Rocky Mountain College <strong>of</strong> <strong>Art</strong> and<br />
Design with degrees in graphic design<br />
and advertising. He has studied ceramics<br />
extensively and recently completed<br />
teaching an advanced workshop at<br />
Penland School <strong>of</strong> Crafts.<br />
Allie Comer earned a B.S. in<br />
psychology from Iowa State University.<br />
She works primarily in mixed media,<br />
fiber, collage and encaustic, and<br />
has attended various art classes and<br />
workshops across the country. Allie is one<br />
<strong>of</strong> the founding members <strong>of</strong> <strong>Art</strong> Mundo<br />
in Ft. Pierce.<br />
John Cullen earned a B.S. in art<br />
education at New York University, and<br />
an M.S. in art education from Pratt<br />
Institute. He works in a variety <strong>of</strong> media<br />
including watercolor, oil, graphite, block<br />
printing and collage. John has over 30<br />
years’ experience as an art teacher, and<br />
has won numerous awards for his work.<br />

Lorraine Fouquet has been a<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>essional artist for over 30 years. She<br />
studied at the Philadelphia Academy <strong>of</strong><br />
Fine <strong>Art</strong>s and at the University <strong>of</strong> Hawaii,<br />
and has also studied abroad in Italy and<br />
France. In addition to teaching at the<br />
<strong>Museum</strong> since 1993, Lorraine is also an<br />
interior designer.<br />

Deborah Gooch studied painting<br />
at Maryland Institute College <strong>of</strong> <strong>Art</strong>,<br />
majoring in fine art. This led to work<br />
as a freelance illustrator, commercial<br />
designer, and decorator in Maryland<br />
and Florida, as well as working as an<br />
antiques dealer. She has shown her<br />
artwork in numerous galleries and<br />

Joel Johnson has a B.F.A. in art from<br />
Westminster College and M.F.A. in<br />
painting and art history from Utah<br />
State University. A career artist, Joel has<br />
received numerous awards, exhibited<br />
in many national shows and has been<br />
featured in many fine art galleries<br />

Linda Kline teaches jewelry design at<br />
galleries and conferences throughout the<br />
U.S. and abroad. She is one <strong>of</strong> only 18<br />
senior precious metal clay instructors in<br />
the nation. Educated at the University <strong>of</strong><br />
Central Florida, her artistic achievements<br />
include acting, jewelry and fashion<br />
design, and mixed media.<br />
Matthew Krawcheck holds a B.F.A.<br />
from the Kansas City <strong>Art</strong> Institute, and<br />
M.B.A. in painting from the University<br />
<strong>of</strong> Pennsylvania. Currently working as a<br />
painter, sculptor and instructor in Fort<br />
Pierce, Florida.<br />
Christopher Loughlin has a B.F.A.<br />
and an M.S. in education from Long<br />
Island University. He is a pr<strong>of</strong>essional art<br />
instructor with more than twenty years<br />
<strong>of</strong> experience in the public school system<br />
and museum education.<br />
Dawn Mill has a B.A. in art from the<br />
University <strong>of</strong> Central Florida. She is a<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>essional artist whose work includes<br />
watercolor, drawing and graphic art,<br />
pastel, oil, and acrylic. She teaches art to<br />
adults and children.<br />
Dawn E. Miller studied under Gerard<br />
Valerio <strong>of</strong> Annapolis, Maryland; and Alex<br />
Castro and Marcia Meyers <strong>of</strong> McLean,<br />
Virginia. Pastels have been Ms. Miller’s<br />
medium <strong>of</strong> choice for more than twenty<br />
years. She conducts workshops and<br />
lecture/demos across the region.<br />

Marie Morrow graduated from the<br />
Newark School <strong>of</strong> Fine and Industrial<br />
<strong>Art</strong>, and is a pr<strong>of</strong>essional studio and<br />
exhibiting artist. She was a four-time<br />
honorable mention award winner at the<br />
A.E. Backus Gallery Annual Juried Show,<br />
and has taught painting to adults and<br />
children at her own gallery.<br />

Warren Obluck earned his B.S.<br />
degree from the University <strong>of</strong> Southern<br />
California, and his M.S. from the Pulitzer<br />
School <strong>of</strong> Journalism at Columbia<br />
University. A career foreign service <strong>of</strong>ficer,<br />
he served as U.S. cultural attaché to the<br />
U.S. embassies in Manila, Tokyo, and<br />
Rome.<br />
George Paxton creates classicallyinspired<br />
representational, figurative<br />
and portrait sculpture in terra-cotta and<br />
bronze. George was educated at the <strong>Art</strong><br />
Students League in New York City and<br />
the Corcoran School <strong>of</strong> <strong>Art</strong>, Washington,<br />
D.C. He has studied with a multitude<br />
<strong>of</strong> classical sculptors in the U.S. and<br />
Europe, and has won many awards<br />
in juried shows and art competitions.<br />

Marlene Evans Putnam has<br />

public and private collections, and she<br />
was recently featured in <strong>Vero</strong> <strong>Beach</strong><br />

Chitra Ramanathan holds a<br />

Tuition<br />
Tuition includes course fees, model fee (per curriculum), and some materials.<br />
Student materials list for your course or workshop(s) are available<br />
when registering at the <strong>Museum</strong>; on-line registrants will receive an e-mail<br />
with any material lists.<br />
Tuition Plus<br />
On average, the fees charged in tuition cover only 68-75% <strong>of</strong> the total<br />
expenses in <strong>of</strong>fering course and workshops. Tuition Plus provides a way<br />
for students to make a fully tax-deductible gift in the amount <strong>of</strong> $100 for<br />
each registered course, to contribute toward these additional expenses.<br />
Cancellations<br />
Courses are cancelled if minimum enrollment is not met. If a course is<br />
cancelled, the <strong>Vero</strong> <strong>Beach</strong> <strong>Museum</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Art</strong> makes every attempt to inform<br />
students and mail a full refund, or <strong>of</strong>fer a transfer to another course.<br />
Chris Douglas is a master teacher<br />

Regina Stark is a multi-media<br />
artist. She has worked in printmaking,<br />
watercolor, acrylics, collage, illustration<br />
and all forms <strong>of</strong> decorative painting,<br />
and has won many awards for her<br />
work. Regina has taught classes and<br />
workshops around the country, and is a<br />
member <strong>of</strong> several art leagues.<br />

Glenda Taylor has been a working<br />
studio artist since graduating with her<br />
BFA in ceramics from University <strong>of</strong><br />
Florida. She is a founding partner at<br />
Tiger Lily Studios and <strong>Art</strong> Gallery, and<br />
served as head <strong>of</strong> the Ceramics Dept. at<br />
the VBMA during its first decade.<br />
Kimberly Weissenborn-Lopez<br />
is a graduate <strong>of</strong> Parsons School <strong>of</strong><br />
Design. Much <strong>of</strong> her work is displayed<br />
here in Florida as well as many other<br />
collections in the United States and<br />
internationally. Kim has taught art for<br />
more than 25 years.<br />

Materials<br />
Tuition does not cover the cost <strong>of</strong> materials used for students’ own<br />
production. Many courses require additional materials and tools, with a<br />
materials list available at registration.<br />
Waiting Lists<br />
Waiting lists are maintained for all filled classes. Please contact the<br />
<strong>Museum</strong> <strong>Art</strong> School <strong>of</strong>fice to be placed on the waiting list. No deposit is<br />
necessary to hold a space.<br />
Refunds<br />
Requests for refunds are made, in writing, in the <strong>Museum</strong> <strong>Art</strong> School<br />
<strong>of</strong>fice during the drop/add week, April 2 – 6, 2012. No phone, online or<br />
mail requests for refunds will be taken. No refunds are possible after the<br />
Drop/Add week.<br />
College Credit<br />
Some courses are <strong>of</strong>fered through Indian River State College and held at<br />
the <strong>Vero</strong> <strong>Beach</strong> <strong>Museum</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Art</strong>. Information on these courses can be obtained<br />
at IRSC, Mueller Campus. Registration for those courses is through<br />
Indian River State College.<br />
In-Service Points for SDIRC Educators<br />
Teachers in the School District <strong>of</strong> Indian River County may also receive inservice<br />
points for attending select <strong>Museum</strong> <strong>Art</strong> School courses throughout<br />
