ABCCM Main Crisis Ministry: Pantry Clean-Up<br />
Project Description: <strong>Volunteer</strong>s will help clean and organize the shelves in the pantry at the Crisis Ministry. <strong>Volunteer</strong>s should wear:<br />
work clothes, closed toe shoes.<br />

ABCCM Medical Ministry: Free Clinic Fall Fixup<br />
Project Description: <strong>Volunteer</strong>s will have the opportunity to assist with both indoor or outdoor projects. Outdoor projects include<br />
weeding, spreading mulch, planting plants, and pressure washing the clinic exterior and windows. <strong>Volunteer</strong> may be asked to use a<br />
ladder to clean windows. Indoor project tasks include general cleaning, dusting, mopping, paint touch-up, and reorganization of<br />
supply closets. <strong>Volunteer</strong>s should wear: work clothes, closed toe shoes. If possible, volunteers should bring: gardening gloves,<br />
shovels or rakes.<br />

ABCCM Steadfast House for Women: Fall Cleanup<br />
Project Description: <strong>Volunteer</strong>s will help with a variety of outdoor projects. Yard work tasks include: mowing, weed eating, raking<br />
and bagging leaves, weeding, trimming hedges, and picking up debris around the house. Exterior projects include: washing the<br />
facility's outside windows, sweeping, cleaning gutters (requires using a ladder), washing/disinfecting outside furniture and toys, and<br />
hosing off the driveways. Some volunteers may be asked to use ladders, mowers, weed trimmers or leaf blowers. <strong>Volunteer</strong>s should<br />
wear: work clothes, closed toe shoes. If possible, volunteers should bring: rakes, gardening tools, gloves, goggles, hedge clippers,<br />
weed eaters, leaf blowers, any yardwork tools to share.<br />

Project Description: With the recent disaster response in the Southeast and Midwest, the Disaster Supply Room and storage trailers<br />
are in need of cleaning and reorganizing. <strong>Volunteer</strong>s should wear: work clothes. If possible, volunteers should bring: work gloves.<br />

Animal Compassion Network: Pet Harmony Spruce-Up<br />
Project Description: <strong>Volunteer</strong>s will stock shelves, clean and organize the office, help with the pet food assistance program, and<br />
provide animal care. <strong>Volunteer</strong>s are encouraged to socialize with dogs and cats! <strong>Volunteer</strong>s should wear: work clothes.<br />

Asheville Humane Society: General Maintenance, Gardening and Animal Loving<br />
Project Description: Outdoor projects include mowing, weed trimming, planting, pruning, and helping to erect a small weed plank<br />
fence to hide the garbage dumpster. Indoor projects include organizing and cleaning the storage areas. <strong>Volunteer</strong>s are encouraged<br />
to socialize with the dogs and cats, as well. Some volunteers may be asked to use mowers and weed trimmers. <strong>Volunteer</strong>s should<br />
wear: work clothes, long pants, closed toe shoes and no jewelry. If possible, volunteers should bring: any gardening tools to use and<br />
share.<br />

Aston Park <strong>Health</strong> Care Center: Activity Storage Organization<br />
Project Description: <strong>Volunteer</strong>s will be sorting through activity supplies and seasonal decorations. Items will then be placed in<br />
containers, labeled, and organized by season. <strong>Volunteer</strong>s should wear: work clothes, closed toe shoes. <strong>Volunteer</strong>s must be able to<br />
lift at least 15 pounds, and walk up and down stairs.<br />

Big Brothers Big Sisters: Mentoring Magic!
Project Description: <strong>Volunteer</strong>s will engage in simple activities with youth at the Stephens-Lee Recreation Center. Staff will lead<br />
activities that give both youth and volunteers opportunities to learn about each other and have fun! <strong>Volunteer</strong>s should wear casual<br />
clothing appropriate for playing with kids.<br />

Goodwill Industries of NWNC: Pet Visit - Therapy Dogs<br />
Project Description: <strong>Volunteer</strong>s and their pets will visit with mentally and/or physically developmentally disabled clients in the<br />
Community Access Day Program. Clients look forward to seeing the dogs perform skills with their owners! <strong>Volunteer</strong>s should wear:<br />
closed toe shoes. Animals will need to remain on a leash. <strong>Volunteer</strong>s should provide plastic baggies to clean up after the pets.<br />

Smith-McDowell House Museum: Museum and Grounds Cleaning<br />
Project Description: Indoor volunteers will assist with dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming in the main house. Outside<br />
volunteers will rake lawns, trim shrubs and weed flower beds etc. Some volunteers may be asked to use stepladders. <strong>Volunteer</strong>s<br />
should wear: work clothes, closed toe shoes, caps and sun screen for sun protection. If possible, volunteers should bring: hand<br />
garden trimmers and weeding tools.<br />

The Rathbun Center: Create a New Garden<br />
Project Description: <strong>Volunteer</strong>s will create a new flower garden near the entrance to the house. <strong>Volunteer</strong>s will begin by clearing<br />
limbs and debris from an embankment. <strong>Volunteer</strong>s will then prepare the garden by spreading topsoil, planting flowers & small shrubs,<br />
and laying mulch. <strong>Volunteer</strong>s should be aware that the terrain for the garden plot is uneven. <strong>Volunteer</strong>s should wear: work clothes,<br />
closed toe shoes. If possible, volunteers should bring: rakes, garden clippers.<br />

The Salvation Army: Fence Painting Project<br />

Western Carolina Rescue Ministries Super Thrift Store: Season of Change<br />
Project Description: <strong>Volunteer</strong>s will sort, hang and price donated merchandise for the upcoming Fall and Winter season at the Thrift<br />
Store. <strong>Volunteer</strong>s should wear: closed toe shoes.<br />
