when they begin school. All youth
graduate from high school and are
prepared for success. All adults
have the means to live a self-sufficient
life and provide for their
families.
We are Women’s Leadership at Mile
High United Way. Join us, and help

of people in metro Denver.

We know there are single mothers who work hard but still can’t
make ends meet. We know there are teenagers who disconnect
in school, and youngsters who are lost and overwhelmed from
the very beginning of first grade.
As women, we empathize with their suffering. As leaders, we
see clearly what needs to change in our community, and we act
on it in very real, very human ways.
Women’s Leadership at Mile High United Way is dedicated to inspiring,
educating and encouraging women to become agents of change in our
community through philanthropy and leadership. We are a powerful force of
change in our community. Together, our 1,500 members donated $8.1 million to
Mile High United Way’s three life-changing initiatives: School Readiness, Youth
Success and Adult Self Sufficiency.
By giving at least $1,000 a year to Mile High United Way, you will become part of
the collective generosity of this powerful and compassionate group of committed
women.

Women’s Leadership at
Mile High United Way

Your leadership gift will make a profound difference in the lives of people in need. As a
member of Women’s Leadership, you’ll have opportunities to expand your network and
connect with other women, like you, who care about changing the future of our community.
• Lunch & Learn events provide opportunities for in-depth exploration of issues
affecting youth and families in metro Denver.
• Advance invitations to attend the Women’s Leadership Luncheon featuring a
nationally recognized speaker.
• Our newsletter will keep you connected to Women’s Leadership and updated on
the progress of Mile High United Way’s three life-changing initiatives.
• Volunteer opportunities to join other Women’s Leadership members in lending
a hand for children and families in need.
The 104 Club is a group within
Women’s Leadership that focuses
on supporting Mile High
United Way’s transformational
housing programs. The
programs offer housing for
formerly homeless families
and require residents to participate in intensive
financial literacy and savings programs.
After five years, the residents have the assets
and the knowledge to purchase their own
home.
The 104 Club supports programs such as
financial literacy and savings programs to
help these struggling families achieve
self sufficiency.
A donation of $104 – in addition to your minimum
donation of $1,000 – is your membership
fee to the 104 Club. With it, you’ll have the
opportunity to make a difference in the lives of
individuals and families who need your help.
You can set a powerful example of leadership
in your community by becoming part of
Mile High United Way’s Tocqueville Society. A
group of 430 business and civic leaders, Tocqueville
Society members give $10,000 and
above to Mile High United Way each year. Caz
Matthews, a prominent local philanthropist
and president of the WellPoint Foundation,
will help you step up to this level of giving by
matching some of your gift this year. Please
