We manage businesses while we<br />
drive <strong>the</strong> carpool to our children’s<br />
school.<br />

<strong>of</strong> people in metro Denver.
We know <strong>the</strong>re are single mo<strong>the</strong>rs who work hard but still can’t<br />
make ends meet. We know <strong>the</strong>re are teenagers who disconnect<br />
in school, and youngsters who are lost and overwhelmed from<br />
<strong>the</strong> very beginning <strong>of</strong> first grade.<br />
As women, we empathize with <strong>the</strong>ir suffering. As leaders, we<br />
see clearly what needs to change in our community, and we act<br />
on it in very real, very human ways.<br />
<strong>Women</strong>’s Leadership at <strong>Mile</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>United</strong> <strong>Way</strong> is dedicated to inspiring,<br />
educating and encouraging women to become agents <strong>of</strong> change in our<br />
community through philanthropy and leadership. We are a powerful force <strong>of</strong><br />
change in our community. Toge<strong>the</strong>r, our 1,500 members donated $8.1 million to<br />
<strong>Mile</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>United</strong> <strong>Way</strong>’s three life-changing initiatives: School Readiness, Youth<br />
Success and Adult Self Sufficiency.<br />
By giving at least $1,000 a year to <strong>Mile</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>United</strong> <strong>Way</strong>, you will become part <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> collective generosity <strong>of</strong> this powerful and compassionate group <strong>of</strong> committed<br />
women.<br />

nationally recognized speaker.<br />
• Our newsletter will keep you connected to <strong>Women</strong>’s Leadership and updated on<br />
<strong>the</strong> progress <strong>of</strong> <strong>Mile</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>United</strong> <strong>Way</strong>’s three life-changing initiatives.<br />
• Volunteer opportunities to join o<strong>the</strong>r <strong>Women</strong>’s Leadership members in lending<br />
a hand for children and families in need.<br />
The 104 Club is a group within<br />
<strong>Women</strong>’s Leadership that focuses<br />
on supporting <strong>Mile</strong> <strong>High</strong><br />
<strong>United</strong> <strong>Way</strong>’s transformational<br />
housing programs. The<br />
programs <strong>of</strong>fer housing for<br />
formerly homeless families<br />
and require residents to participate in intensive<br />
financial literacy and savings programs.<br />
After five years, <strong>the</strong> residents have <strong>the</strong> assets<br />
and <strong>the</strong> knowledge to purchase <strong>the</strong>ir own<br />
home.<br />
The 104 Club supports programs such as<br />
financial literacy and savings programs to<br />
help <strong>the</strong>se struggling families achieve<br />
self sufficiency.<br />
A donation <strong>of</strong> $104 – in addition to your minimum<br />
donation <strong>of</strong> $1,000 – is your membership<br />
fee to <strong>the</strong> 104 Club. With it, you’ll have <strong>the</strong><br />
opportunity to make a difference in <strong>the</strong> lives <strong>of</strong><br />
individuals and families who need your help.<br />
You can set a powerful example <strong>of</strong> leadership<br />
in your community by becoming part <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>Mile</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>United</strong> <strong>Way</strong>’s Tocqueville Society. A<br />
group <strong>of</strong> 430 business and civic leaders, Tocqueville<br />
Society members give $10,000 and<br />
above to <strong>Mile</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>United</strong> <strong>Way</strong> each year. Caz<br />
Mat<strong>the</strong>ws, a prominent local philanthropist<br />
and president <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> WellPoint Foundation,<br />
will help you step up to this level <strong>of</strong> giving by<br />
matching some <strong>of</strong> your gift this year. Please<br />
