Mission Statement<br />
The mission <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Auburn</strong> Parks &<br />
Recreation Department is two-fold:<br />
to provide quality leisure services and<br />
facilities to the citizens <strong>of</strong> <strong>Auburn</strong> and<br />
to appropriately manage<br />
<strong>Auburn</strong>’s cemeteries.<br />
The <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Auburn</strong> provides<br />

The calendar spotlights many <strong>of</strong> our favorite memories from the last year. While the New Year<br />
brings new projects, new goals, new ideas, and new programs - and this year, new facilities,<br />
our mission remains the same: to provide quality leisure services and facilities to the citizens<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>Auburn</strong>. At Parks and Recreation, we feel it is important to take time to enjoy the simple<br />
pleasures in life, whether you are making memories with family and friends at one <strong>of</strong> our<br />
events, enjoying a walk or run through one <strong>of</strong> our many parks, or discovering a new hobby<br />
through one <strong>of</strong> our quarterly class <strong>of</strong>ferings. <strong>Auburn</strong> Parks and Recreation is committed to<br />
enhancing the quality <strong>of</strong> life <strong>of</strong> all our citizens.<br />
I would like to take a moment to thank the local businesses that support our teams, events,<br />
and programs each year. Their generosity allows us to provide cost‐effective services to<br />
tens <strong>of</strong> thousands <strong>of</strong> citizens. If you are attending one <strong>of</strong> our many free community events<br />
throughout the year, you can be assured that it is because <strong>of</strong> the support <strong>of</strong> a local business.<br />
I encourage you to support <strong>Auburn</strong>’s business community, as they support us year‐round.<br />
Whenever possible, make sure that you Shop<strong>Auburn</strong> first and keep sales tax dollars local to<br />
support not only our programs and events, but all <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Auburn</strong> services and <strong>Auburn</strong> <strong>City</strong><br />
Schools. Thank you for your continued support <strong>of</strong> <strong>Auburn</strong> Parks and Recreation. We look<br />
