10G Transponder
The TP10G Transponder (TP10GCLX/zzzzz) is a powerful unit for 10GbE-WAN/STM-64/OC-192 and 10GbE LAN traffic
formats with the following functions and features:
- Client signal is mapped into a G.709 digital wrapper.
TM-101/-102
TM-301
- Embedded management channel enables easy access to remote NE’s without need for local DCN access or
separate OSC channel.
- Boosted transmission distance via line coding (FEC) that detects and corrects bit errors (Forward Error
Correction).
- XFP Transceiver on client interface to enable different interfacing alternatives towards client equipment.
TM-3000
- Discrete line interface to provide highest transmission characteristics for long-haul applications
- PM extraction on both client and line interface every 15min/24h that is presented according to G.826 in the
node and network manager.
- Near-end client and far-end line loop-back for fault-finding and to ease installation and commissioning.
Double Dual GbE
Transponder
- Supports equipment protection where two TP10G units are combined via a passive optical coupler/splitter (OCU).
The 10G Transponder can be mounted in the TM-101/-102, TM-301 or TM-3000 chassis’ for either fiber-pair or singlefiber
configurations.
The TP10G Transponder is primarily intended for amplified point-to-point and bus networks where the FEC coding gives
the needed boost in transmission performance. Up to 80 DWDM channels are currently supported for distances up to
600km using intermediate line amplifiers, dispersion compensation etc.
OCU
TP10GCLX
TP10GCLX
Two TP10G units can be connected to provide equipment protection.
A passive optical coupler/combiner is placed between the Transponders and the
client equipment as shown in the figure.
One Transponder is set to “active” and the other in “stand-by” mode. Only the
active Transponder has its client laser turned on. Upon a failure on the active
path, the active Transponder will turn off its client laser and a HW-connected
signal will activate the stand-by Transponder. This switch is done within 20ms.
