Area Attractions<br />
<strong>Bridgeport</strong> Heritage Museum<br />
The museum is presently located in the lower level of the <strong>Bridgeport</strong> Visitor Center on Halsell Street<br />
in downtown <strong>Bridgeport</strong>. Formerly the police station and jail, the building has undergone extensive<br />
renovations and now provides a permanent place to preserve the history of the town and surrounding<br />
area. Colorful exhibits depict the early coal mining in <strong>Bridgeport</strong>, construction of Lake <strong>Bridgeport</strong>,<br />
and the development of the oil and gas industry in the area. For information call, 940-683-4341.<br />
<strong>Bridgeport</strong> Area <strong>Chamber</strong> of <strong>Commerce</strong> and Visitor Center<br />
The <strong>Bridgeport</strong> Area <strong>Chamber</strong> of <strong>Commerce</strong> and Visitor Center is located on Halsell Street<br />
in downtown <strong>Bridgeport</strong>. The building has been extensively remodeled and also houses the<br />
community’s authentic replica of a Concord stagecoach. A video depicting the history of the<br />
Butterfield Overland Mail route is also a highlight of the Visitor Center. For information,<br />

Northwest OHV (<strong>Of</strong>f-Highway Vehicle) Park<br />
Located just off Highway 101 on the north edge of <strong>Bridgeport</strong>, Northwest Park offers 25 miles of<br />
exciting trails for the off-road enthusiast. The OHV Park is open to Jeeps, 4-wheelers, motorcycles<br />
and any other vehicle that can be taken off-road. Restrooms and a covered pavilion are available for<br />
park users. The park is open on Saturday and Sunday, and overnight camping is available the second<br />

<strong>Bridgeport</strong> City Parks<br />
<strong>Bridgeport</strong> is fortunate to have two family friendly city parks. Harwood Park features a swimming<br />
pool, covered pavilion, restroom facilities, lighted walking trails, and a state-of-the-art playground.<br />
Payne Park offers volleyball, skate-boarding, and picnic facilities. For information call, 940-683-3400<br />
Lake <strong>Bridgeport</strong> and Wise County Park<br />
The beautiful Lake <strong>Bridgeport</strong> area offers something for everyone - camping, fishing, boating,<br />
swimming, or just relaxing. Wise County Park on the north end of the lake provides a number of<br />

<strong>Bridgeport</strong> Falls Paddling Trail<br />
The <strong>Bridgeport</strong> Falls low water weir dam creates a pleasant 5.8 mile looped paddling trail under a<br />
lush canopy of native trees and other vegetation, located on the West Fork of the Trinity River. You<br />
will paddle along the river’s sandy banks with occasional sandstone outcroppings for a float time 2.5-5<br />
hours. This section of the West Fork Trinity River also offers fishing. For the nature enthusiast, you<br />
