Center for Animal Research and Education<br />

CARE is a non-profit organization established to provide a safe haven for abused and abandoned<br />

big cats. It is currently home to 53 big cats, including lions, white and orange tigers, leopards,<br />

cougars and lemurs. Tours are conducted hourly on Saturday and Sunday from 11a.m. until 5p.m. For<br />

Runaway Bay<br />

Located just ten miles west of <strong>Bridgeport</strong>, Runaway Bay is a beautiful community along the<br />

<strong>Bridgeport</strong> Municipal Airport<br />

Located just 8 miles west of <strong>Bridgeport</strong> on Highway 380, the airport offers 24-hour facilities.<br />

The airport includes 33 privately owned hangars, 30 city owned hangars, and a 4,004 foot runway.<br />

<strong>Bridgeport</strong> is fortunate to have an attractive, well-stocked library. The building itself is due in part<br />

to a generous matching grant from John and Katherine Jackson. In addition to an extensive collection<br />

The newly renovated theater known as the <strong>Bridgeport</strong> Stage provides an excellent facility for<br />

<strong>Bridgeport</strong> Camp and Conference Center<br />

Since 1949 <strong>Bridgeport</strong> Camp and Conference Center, operated by the North Texas Conference<br />

of the United Methodist Church, has offered Christian summer camps and retreat facilities to<br />

thousands each year. Located on 200 acres above Lake <strong>Bridgeport</strong>, the camp includes a challenge<br />

course, swimming pool, sand volleyball courts, and lakeside<br />

Sid Richardson Scout Ranch<br />

The 3,000 acre scout ranch, operated by the Longhorn<br />

Council of Boy Scouts of America, is located on the shores<br />

of beautiful Lake <strong>Bridgeport</strong>. Activities include an extensive<br />

summer program as well as year-round camping. Lakeview<br />

Lodge, located within the camp, is a full service conference<br />
