Historical Commission in 2006. The Texas Main Street program<br />
is affiliated with the National Trust for Historic Preservation and<br />
is one of the most successful downtown revitalization programs<br />
in the nation. In 2007, the city received recognition as a National<br />
Main Street City and has continued to earn that designation<br />
annually. This prestigious recognition means that the City of<br />
<strong>Bridgeport</strong> and its residents are committed to preserving our historic business district, both architecturally and<br />
economically.<br />
