Teach-ins provide an update on advances in clinical practice for
doctors in training, consultant physicians, GPs and other doctors
wishing to continue their medical education. Attendance is free
of charge.

RCP updates in medicine and
annual visits 2011
The RCP holds a series of open forum sessions to promote
good communication and discuss professional issues with
fellows and members in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
These are attended by the president and RCP officers.

Fellowships and lectureships
Linacre lecture
Applications are invited to deliver the Linacre lecture 2012.
Applicants must be fellows or members under the age
of 40 on 30 September 2011. The lecture should include
a proportion of original unpublished work in a balanced
account of the subject suitable for a general medical
audience. Work carried out in collaboration or under
supervision will require prior approval of colleagues.
Closing date for applications is 30 September 2011.
Milroy lecture on state medicine and public health
Applications are invited to deliver the Milroy lecture 2013.
The lecturer is appointed by Council and the subject should
be of relevance to state medicine and public hygiene,
although the interpretation of this can be broad. A copy of
Dr Milroy’s ‘suggestions’ on the subject of this bequest is
available on request.

Samuel Leonard Simpson fellowships in endocrinology
Applications are invited from suitably qualified UK
endocrinologists for the Samuel Leonard Simpson fellowships
in endocrinology. Their purpose is to enable endocrinologists
to learn new techniques and acquire new experiences, ideas
and stimulation through travel and the exchange of ideas.

MRC/RCP/Dinwoodie Trust clinical research
training fellowship
One clinical research training fellowship will be awarded
in 2012 to a clinically qualified professional to undertake
up to three years research in the bio-medical sciences
