What We’ve Done This Month
Here are some of the items that we have been dealing with over
the past month:
1. Affordable Housing
The Parish Council has now learnt which Housing Associations have
received funding from the government to undertake affordable
housing in rural Gloucestershire. Bromford did not receive
funding, but two other HA’s, Two Rivers and Cottsway, did receive
some. The Council’s specialist adviser is approaching these two
new HA’s to see if they can help with Uley’s needs. In addition,
another HA, Severn Vale, is undertaking some developments out of
its own resources and an approach has been made to them as well.
Bromford are also considering undertaking some builds out of their
own resources and have been asked to consider Uley, but we are
aware that they have other projects which are more advanced and
may give priority to those.
2. New Bus Services
The review of the bus services has been completed and we have
been advised that the Dursley/Uley section has been amalgamated
into a new Dursley/Uley/Nympsfield/Nailsworth service 35 that
will run Mondays to Saturdays. This new service will start in
November. We have not yet been advised of the times of the bus
but will put these in the Village Shop (and into the next edition of
this newsletter) when known.
