Tünel
Potern
Yer Kapı, Hattuşa’nın en ilginç
kalıntılarındandır. Sur, burada
20 metre yüksekliğinde yapay
bir sırt üzerinden geçer. Yapay
sırtın şehir dışına bakan eğimli
yüzünün 250 m uzunluğundaki
kesimi kireçtaşı bloklarla
kaplıdır. Kesik pramit biçimli
bu oluşumun en üstünde
ortada yer alan Sfenksli Kapı
ve bunun hemen altında
Hatuşa’nın bugün içinden
geçilebilen tek poterni (tünel)
vardır. 71 metre uzunluğunda
ve 3 metre yüksekliğindeki
poternden geçilerek sur dışına
çıkılmaktadır.
Yerkapı (Sfenksli Kapı)
Sphinx Gate
26
Yer Kapı (the Ground Gate)
is one of the most interesting
remains. The wall crosses over
an artificial ridge with a height
of 20 meters here. 250-meter
part of the curved face of
the artificial ridge facing the
upstate is covered with blocks.
There is Sfenksli Kapı (the
Sphinx Gate) in the middle
on the top of this frustumpyramid
shaped form and
under that takes place the only
potern (hidden tunnel) that
can be passed through today.
One may get out of the wall
by passing through the potern
with a length of 71 meters and
height of 3 meters.
