ANZIIF is a lead<strong>in</strong>g non-profit <strong>in</strong>stitution provid<strong>in</strong>g education, tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g and professional development services<br />

to <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>surance and f<strong>in</strong>ancial services <strong>in</strong>dustry <strong>in</strong> <strong>Australia</strong>, New Zealand and <strong>the</strong> Asia Pacific region – it<br />

represents both general <strong>in</strong>surance and <strong>in</strong>surance brok<strong>in</strong>g as well as life <strong>in</strong>surance, loss adjust<strong>in</strong>g, f<strong>in</strong>ancial<br />

plann<strong>in</strong>g, risk management, workers compensation. Its members <strong>in</strong>clude both firms and <strong>in</strong>dividuals.<br />

ANZIIF has its orig<strong>in</strong>s <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> late 1880s and merged with <strong>the</strong> Insurance Institute of New Zealand (IINZ) <strong>in</strong><br />

2000.<br />

Membership requirements<br />

ANZIIF has a number of membership levels:<br />

• Ord<strong>in</strong>ary Member – an open level of membership with no qualification requirements.<br />

• Member – open to people who have completed a tertiary degree <strong>in</strong> any discipl<strong>in</strong>e or completed ASIC<br />

Tier 1 compliance<br />

• CIP Affiliate – open to people who have undertaken <strong>the</strong> Institute’s Affiliate program <strong>in</strong> General/Life<br />

Insurance prior to <strong>the</strong> implementation of AQF courses<br />

• CIP Associate – open to people who have completed a Certificate IV General Insurance qualification or<br />

equivalent 66<br />

• CIP Senior Associate – open to people who have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma<br />

qualification or equivalent<br />

• CIP Fellow – open to people who have achieved Fellowship of <strong>the</strong> Institute<br />

Certification and <strong>in</strong>dustry designations<br />

To atta<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> ANZIIF CIP designation, members need to atta<strong>in</strong> def<strong>in</strong>ed qualifications and ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

technical skills and knowledge through an annual program of professional development, as well as abid<strong>in</strong>g<br />

by <strong>the</strong> ANZIIF Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct to ensure <strong>the</strong> highest standards of<br />

professional practice.<br />

ANZIIF has a set of logos and post nom<strong>in</strong>als for each of its CIP membership levels, as follows:<br />

A recognition of equivalence to <strong>the</strong> ANZIIF qualifications is considered where personnel have o<strong>the</strong>r f<strong>in</strong>ancial services<br />
