management of newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes<br />
mellitus (T2DM) and review the guidelines for<br />
screening and diagnosis of prediabetes and T2DM.<br />
Using illustrative cases, the audience will learn<br />
how to distinguish T2DM from impaired glucose<br />
tolerance or impaired fasting blood sugar or stress<br />
hyperglycemia; determine the seriousness, acuity,<br />
and urgency of each case; and take the appropriate<br />
steps for referral and office management.<br />
