Curriculum We provide various learning and interest centers, encouraging and stimulating natural curiosity. We also have structured educational experiences in art, music, drama, movement, math, science, language, health, safety, cooking, and nutrition. Our curriculum, based on High Reach, is academically age and developmentally appropriate, and focuses on the following developmental goals. SPIRITUAL: Lovingly share with the child God’s saving Word so that he or she experiences love and forgiveness in Jesus Christ, and responds in faith and love to God and others. EMOTIONAL: Encourage, support, and help the child to grow in positive life-awareness, living confidently as God’s child. SOCIAL: Provide an environment in which the child understands and strengthens relationships with others. PHYSICAL: Provide activities in which the child regards his or her body as a gift of God and grows in perceptual motor skills and physical development. INTELLECTUAL: Involve the child in appropriate experiences to enhance discovery, communication, conceptualization, and creativity. Here at Gloria Christi Lutheran Preschool/Daycare, Christian living is a way of life, not just a Bible lesson. In our program, we use prayer throughout the day. Bible lessons and songs are included as part of the regular curriculum. We encourage children to incorporate personal prayer in their lives, and parents are encouraged to support and continue this practice with their children at home. Admissions A child shall be 3 - 12 years old to enroll at Gloria Christi Lutheran Preschool/Daycare. We do not have child-sized bathrooms or changing facilities and therefore are not in a position to accept children who are in pull-ups and/or diapers, or children who cannot independently use the bathroom facilities. Parents of children with disabilities or medical conditions may request a meeting with the Director and Board of Education to determine if the facility meets the needs of their child who is not able to do these tasks. Parents or guardians are required to immediately notify the center, in writing, of any changes in information such as doctor, home and work phone numbers, employment changes, marital status, or emergency names and phone numbers. IMMUNIZATION Every child entering Colorado public and private schools, including preschools and daycares, shall provide a completed Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Certificate of Immunization. Parents or guardians are required to keep all medical forms on file current. Annual physicals are required for the children. If an enrolling child has special health care needs, the child’s parent or guardian shall provide a health care plan from the child’s health care provider. REGISTRATION The school-year and summer programs are separate. Non-refundable registration fees are due with the registration form each August for the school-year session and each May for the summer session. Preregistration forms and fees are required each session for current students to guarantee continued enrollment. PRESCHOOL TUITION Financial Arrangements Preschool payment is due on the first day of each month, except the enrolling month when it is due the first day of school. A five-day grace period will be allowed for payments, after which the account will be considered delinquent. A late fee of $10 per month will be assessed if payment is made after the 5 th . If payment is not made by the 15 th , the child will not be allowed to remain in the school. These policies are strictly enforced unless other arrangements have been made with the Director. There are no adjustments to monthly preschool tuition regardless of the number of days the child attends, vacations, school closures, or holidays. The fee is the same per month throughout that session as preschool costs are based on the cost of the whole session and divided by the number of months in that session. DAYCARE FEES Daycare fees are due by Wednesday of each week for that week. Any fee not paid by 6:00 PM on Wednesday will result in a $10 late fee. Fees left unpaid will result in the removal of the child from our daycare program and/or referral of the account to collections without additional notice. After termination of the child’s care, if there is an unpaid balance, weekly late fees will continue for two weeks regardless of the circumstance for termination. 8 Revised August 2011
