Type 2 Diabetes is a
family concern
Diabetes is a serious disease, but
learning more about it can help you
and your family understand and better
manage Type 2 diabetes.
Community Education for
Type 2 Diabetes
FREE Community education sessions are
provided around the Nelson Tasman
region by Nelson Bays Primary Health and
supported by Diabetes Nelson.
Who can attend
The sessions are for people (and their
families) who are at risk of developing
diabetes, or those who have Type 2
diabetes. We also welcome those who
are caring for someone with diabetes.
When you learn more, you can help
reduce the risk of developing
complications of diabetes.
The sessions are held over 1-day (10am—
3pm) or can be split into 2 x evening (or day)
sessions. See timetable on the back.
With knowledge and understanding,
you can take action to keep yourself
well with diabetes (or help keep others
around you well)
The sessions promote awareness, wellness
and confidence to help you self-manage
diabetes. Self management is what you do
yourself to manage your diabetes.
The education sessions are delivered in small
groups (15-20 people) using everyday
language and visual aids to enhance your
learning.
Registrations are essential so please
