This letter is to inform your company that Sensata Technologies is a validated member of the C-­‐TPAT
(Customs-­‐Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) program. C-­‐TPAT is a joint U.S. government-­‐to-­‐business
initiative to build cooperative relationships that strengthen overall supply chain and border security.
Through this initiative, U.S. Customs is asking to ensure the integrity of their security practices and
communicate their security guidelines to their business partners within their supply chain.
Sensata Technologies would like to strongly encourage our partners in business to follow the guidelines
set by the U.S. government with the C-­‐TPAT program and ensure the safety of your supply chain.
We are asking our suppliers to conduct a comprehensive self-­‐assessment of supply chain security using
the C-­‐TPAT security guidelines jointly developed by the Department of Homeland Security and the trade
community. Accompanying this letter is a Suppliers Questionnaire to facilitate you with this request.
For the time being, participation in the C-­‐TPAT program is voluntary. You are invited to participate and
enjoy the benefits of the C-­‐TPAT program.
Please return to us, as soon as possible, your completed questionnaire. If necessary, include an
overview of your plan for compliance.
If you are already C-­‐TPAT certified, please disregard the questionnaire and provide us with a copy of
your SVI number or a statement on your company’s letterhead stating that you are certified and the
date that your company achieved certification.
