CELESTE FRANCIS ESTEVES graduated from <strong>Woodsworth</strong> <strong>College</strong> (2003, 2006), with an<br />

H.B.A. in French Language and Linguistics & Psychology and is currently an M.Ed candidate in<br />

the Theory and Policy in Higher Education program at OISE. An AAWC member since 2003, she<br />

has acted as the <strong>board</strong>’s secretary, Vice-President prior to embarking on a two year term as<br />

President. She has represented the AAWC and <strong>Woodsworth</strong> on a number <strong>of</strong> internal and<br />

external committees. Celeste organized the college’s first Spring Reunion in 2009 and again in<br />

<strong>2010</strong>.<br />

LUCINDA WILLIAMS graduated from <strong>Woodsworth</strong> <strong>College</strong> in June 2006 with an HBA in English<br />

Literature. She sits on <strong>Woodsworth</strong> <strong>College</strong> Council and is Chair <strong>of</strong> the AAWC Events<br />

Committee. Lucinda worked as a national recruiting manager for London Life’s newest sales<br />

division (The Retirement Planning Centre). During her 22 years in the industry, she earned her<br />

CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) designation and several other industry related licensing<br />

designations. Lucinda has spent time volunteering at United Way, Canadian Cancer Society,<br />

past chair <strong>of</strong> Halton Women’s Place and is currently a director <strong>of</strong> Toronto's Theatre Passe<br />

Muraille.<br />

CASEY MAK graduated from <strong>Woodsworth</strong> <strong>College</strong> with a BComm (Economics & Finance, WW<br />

2005), and holds an MA Economics (U <strong>of</strong> T 2008). He is currently Associate Director, Finance at<br />

Bell Canada and has volunteered at various U <strong>of</strong> T events. Casey joined the AAWC Board <strong>of</strong><br />

Directors in 2009 and is on the Events Committee, Student Affairs, and Academic Advisory.<br />

Outside <strong>of</strong> the AAWC, Casey is active in the community and sits on the Cecil Community Centre<br />

Board <strong>of</strong> Directors.<br />

KELLY ANNE DOWNS graduated from <strong>Woodsworth</strong> <strong>College</strong> in 2008 after completing an<br />

Honours B.A. (Art History, Cinema Studies and Political Science) with high distinction. She<br />

joined the AAWC Board <strong>of</strong> Directors in 2009. Kelly has been very involved on the AAWC Events<br />

Committee, AGM Committee, and is serving her second term as Secretary. During her<br />

undergrad, Kelly volunteered at film festivals, acted in a play and a short film, and raised money<br />

for charity. In 2007, Kelly was published in Camera Stylo, a U <strong>of</strong> T student film journal; and in<br />

2008, she was awarded the Dorothy Helen McRobb Scholarship.<br />

DIANE LUTY graduated from <strong>Woodsworth</strong> <strong>College</strong> in 1995 with a Certificate in Business. She<br />

also holds a B.Ed. ADED (Adult Education), was a former pr<strong>of</strong>essor at Centennial <strong>College</strong>, and<br />

works as an Advisor at RBC Dexia Investor Services. Diane was the former Chair <strong>of</strong> the Events<br />

Committee and acting AAWC President in 2007, President from 2008 – <strong>2010</strong>, received the Arbor<br />

Award volunteer recognition in 2009, and has supported and participated in a number <strong>of</strong> WCSA<br />

and alumni sponsored events. She was an Ex-Officio member <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Woodsworth</strong> <strong>College</strong><br />

Council during her term as President and will serve her second term as Chair <strong>of</strong> the Nomination<br />

Committee and will represent the AAWC on the <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> Electors.<br />

KHALID AHMED graduated in 2005 from <strong>Woodsworth</strong> <strong>College</strong> with a Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Arts and<br />

Science (Hon) in Peace and Conflict Studies (Specialist), Political Science (Major) Near Middle<br />

Eastern Civilizations (Minor). He is a Ph.D. candidate and a teaching assistant at Department <strong>of</strong><br />

Political Science, <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Toronto. He is, also, the Secretary General <strong>of</strong> the Sudanese<br />

Canadian Human Rights Organization (Toronto, Canada). He holds a Master’s <strong>of</strong> Political<br />

Science from the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Toronto (2007). Khalid is a recipient <strong>of</strong> Canada’s Social Sciences<br />

and Humanities Research Council Award SSHRC and the <strong>Woodsworth</strong> <strong>College</strong> Peter F.<br />

Bronfman Leadership Award (2006). Khalid joined the AAWC Board <strong>of</strong> Directors in 2008.<br />

ANN BRUMELL graduated from <strong>Woodsworth</strong> <strong>College</strong> in 1974 with a Certificate in Criminology.<br />

Ann worked as a Senior Research Assistant for the Director <strong>of</strong> Criminology for several years.<br />

She joined the John Howard’s Society as a community relations <strong>of</strong>ficer, worked several years on<br />

the Judge’s staff at the Supreme Court <strong>of</strong> Ontario, was founding Director <strong>of</strong> Applegrove<br />

Community Complex, and served as Executive Director <strong>of</strong> Downsview Services to Seniors and<br />

the Pauline McGibbon Cultural Centre. She was the Registrar <strong>of</strong> Admissions and Secretary to<br />

the <strong>College</strong> Corporation at Massey <strong>College</strong> and she is now an elected Senior Fellow Emertia.<br />

NATALIE COHEN graduated from <strong>Woodsworth</strong> <strong>College</strong> in 2001 with a Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Arts,<br />

Economics (major). She entered the financial services industry where she has remained<br />

working for the past 10 years. Natalie joined the AAWC in <strong>2010</strong> and actively participates on the<br />

AAWC Events and IT Committees, with the hope <strong>of</strong> engaging as many <strong>Woodsworth</strong> alumni as<br />

possible and contributing to the overall success <strong>of</strong> the organisation. Natalie is an enthusiastic<br />

skier, participates in organized charity runs both locally and abroad, and raises money and<br />

awareness for causes that are important to her.<br />

ARTHUR DESOUZA graduated from <strong>Woodsworth</strong> <strong>College</strong> in 1981 with a B.Sc. He joined the<br />

Canada Life Assurance Company in Toronto in the Actuarial Systems Department. After 11<br />

years at Canada Life, Arthur became an IT consultant specializing in banking & insurance.<br />

Arthur has worked with CIBC Insurance, TD Canada Trust, London Life, Royal Bank, IBM and<br />

Economical Insurance Group. He joined the AAWC Board <strong>of</strong> Directors in 2009 and sits on the<br />

Events and IT Committees.<br />

BOBBIE FRANCE graduated in 2002 with a TESL Certificate from <strong>Woodsworth</strong> <strong>College</strong>. Bobbie<br />

has participated on the events committee, served on the <strong>Woodsworth</strong> <strong>College</strong> Council<br />

Committee, and has served as Secretary. She has been an active volunteer in her community<br />

and is the owner <strong>of</strong> a tutoring centre. Bobbie became a member <strong>of</strong> the AAWC in 2003 and will sit<br />

on the <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> Electors in <strong>2010</strong>/11.<br />

CHRIS MURUMETS graduated from <strong>Woodsworth</strong> college in 2001 with a Certificate in business.<br />

Chris is the CEO and co-founder <strong>of</strong> LOGiQ3, an insurance outsourcing and consulting firm<br />

focused on life reinsurance, with <strong>of</strong>fices in Toronto Canada and Cardiff Wales. Prior to LOGiQ3,<br />

Chris was the Assistant Vice President, Reinsurance Operations for Sun Life Reinsurance. Chris<br />

has earned the following industry designations; Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI),<br />

Associate, Insurance Regulation & Compliance (AIRC), Associate, Reinsurance Administration<br />

(ARA). Chris’ volunteer experience includes; being a Treasurer and President <strong>of</strong> the LOMA<br />

Society <strong>of</strong> Toronto and a Past Chair and founding member <strong>of</strong> the Reinsurance Administration<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>essionals Association (RAPA). Chris will be an active member <strong>of</strong> the Strategic Planning<br />

Committee to the AAWC in <strong>2011</strong>-12.<br />

KAREN PAUL graduated from <strong>Woodsworth</strong> <strong>College</strong> in 2008 with an Hon.B.A. Double Major in<br />

English and Sociology. The following year she completed her B.Ed. at Charles Sturt <strong>University</strong>,<br />

Burlington Campus. Karen is the co-founder <strong>of</strong> Sanctuary <strong>of</strong> Toronto, an organization that<br />

provides care for homeless and marginalized persons. Karen is an occasional teacher in<br />

Toronto’s public and private schools.<br />

DENISE RYNER graduated from <strong>Woodsworth</strong> <strong>College</strong> in <strong>2010</strong> with an Honours Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Arts<br />

with High Distinction. She majored in Fine Art History and minored in Semiotic and German<br />

studies. In 2008 she took part in <strong>Woodsworth</strong>'s summer-abroad program in Siena, Italy. She is<br />

currently the Registrar/Archivist at Art Metropole, one <strong>of</strong> Canada's oldest and well-known artistrun<br />

centres. Denise is also a part-time curatorial assistant at the Justina M. Barnicke Gallery<br />

where she works primarily with the Hart House Permanent Art Collection.<br />

DIRECTOR CINDY SINCLAIR completed the Academic Bridging program at <strong>Woodsworth</strong> <strong>College</strong> in 2000<br />

and graduated with a B.A. (History & Art History) in 2005. She was in the <strong>Woodsworth</strong> summerabroad<br />

program in Oxford, England, in 2004. In 2009 she completed a Master <strong>of</strong> Education<br />

(M.Ed.) degree at OISE and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Sociology (Education & Workplace<br />

Learning) while working full time as Exec Asst and Communications & Technology Coordinator,<br />

in the Department <strong>of</strong> Sociology and Equity Studies, at OISE. Cindy was the AAWC Treasurer<br />

from 2009 - January <strong>2011</strong>, is a member <strong>of</strong> the AAWC Events Committee, the U <strong>of</strong> T Hart House<br />

General and Acquisition Committees, and the OISE Alumni Association.<br />

DIRECTOR<br />

ELIZABETH TROTTER graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Science in Psychology and<br />

received the Peter F. Bronfman Gold scholarship. She continued her studies at OISE/U<strong>of</strong>T and<br />

graduated with her MA in Counselling Psychology, in November 2008. Elizabeth presented her<br />

research on the interaction <strong>of</strong> depression, perfectionism, and treatment at the SPR conference<br />

in Barcelona, in June 2008. Before undertaking full-time studies at <strong>Woodsworth</strong>, Elizabeth was a<br />

financial analyst at the Royal Bank. Elizabeth joined the AAWC Board <strong>of</strong> Directors this year,<br />

<strong>2010</strong>.<br />
