ALD AUTOMOTIVE DELIVERS FIRST VEHICLES TO HOUSING ASSOCIATIONS
UNDER UNIQUE NEW FLEET AGREEMENT
ALD Automotive has delivered the first vehicles after winning a place on a mould-breaking
fleet framework agreement that could potentially result in the supply of thousands of vans
and cars.
A total of 144 vehicles have been delivered by ALD Automotive to three housing
associations in the North West of England and there are already a further 123 orders in
the pipeline with more anticipated to follow. More than 230 of the vehicles either delivered
or on order are light commercial vehicles, mainly panel vans, with the balance company
cars.
Procure Plus, a not-for-profit regeneration company is a consortia of social housing
providers with stock in the North West. It is the largest consortium which, with other social
housing consortia, works cooperatively under the brand name of Re:allies.
Re:allies was established earlier this year as a strategic collaboration of social housing
consortia with the aim of sharing best practice and leveraging the sourcing of supplies.
Jointly, the members of Re:allies are responsible for the repair and upkeep of over
800,000 properties primarily across the North of England on behalf of social housing
landlords, who are located across the whole of the UK.

UNDER UNIQUE NEW FLEET AGREEMENT
The four-year fleet framework agreement was negotiated by Procure Plus, on behalf of
Re:allies, and it brings the public and private sectors together to collectively lease or
purchase vehicles and access a wide range of vehicle-related services at the most
advantageous prices for everyone in the supply chain, including landlords, contractors and
suppliers.
ALD Automotive is one of four vehicle suppliers to win a place on the framework
agreement and has also been approved to provide vehicle servicing, maintenance and
repairs and vehicle defleet services. The selected contract hire and fleet management
companies will provide everything from basic lease to fully maintained and managed
vehicles.
ALD Automotive secured its preferred supplier status on the basis of price and service
delivery.
The fleet agreement gives organisations access to discounts from Ford, Renault and
Volkswagen on cars and Citroen, Ford and Renault on light commercial vehicles. However,
other manufacturers are available through the framework.
The first vehicles delivered under the agreement were to three housing associations in the
North West, which are members of the Procure Plus consortium - Stockport Homes,
Parkway Green Housing Trust and Moorlands Housing, a member of Harvest Housing
Group.

Procure Plus Business Development Manager Gwen Heap, said: “This framework is not

will other consortia if they join. Potentially that means many thousands of vehicles could
be supplied under the terms of the agreement.”
ALD Automotive is the UK’s fastest growing vehicle leasing and fleet management
company having added 10,000 units in the past 12 months to take its fleet size to 57,000
company cars and vans.

Paul Towers, Senior Project Manager for Moorlands Housing, said: “As a member of the
initial project group Harvest has been involved with Procure Plus’ new vehicles framework
from the outset, giving advice on our specific requirements. The new framework has
enabled us to obtain preferential rates on contract hire through economies of scale, and
the addition of Procure Plus members and their suppliers has added leverage through
volume. This subsequently gives us additional weight in the supply chain to provide
increased services levels and price stability in their sector.”
Mark Hudson, from Stockport Homes, said: “Vehicles are essential to our business as we
have a mobile repairs workforce that needs to respond quickly and efficiently, often at
short notice. The lease contract has not only delivered savings of 20% but just as
importantly has also brought significant improvements in the quality of the product. The
feedback from the operatives has been very good indeed and we are sure this new fleet
will help deliver an even better service to our customers.”
