Processed approximately 160 referrals from the local school districts and
Highland Pines
Made over 800 contacts to truancy students and their families
Follow‐up contacts made on 25 students who were referred the previous
school year
Court referrals filed on 12 students
Worked with the Juvenile/Family Court personnel to develop new guidelines
which will be implemented for the 2011‐2012 school year
Presented our truancy program at the MPAAA (Michigan Pupil Accounting
& Attendance Association) state‐wide conferences
Coordinated meetings for increased collaboration between local school
districts, Tuscola County Court System and local service agencies
Observed increased involvement of school personnel in the prevention
model
Conducted increased interventions at the elementary level
Observed improved attendance in approximately 70% of cases referred
Observed decrease repeat offenders
Served on the following committees: Continuum of Care, Human Services
Collaborate Council and Systems of Care
Pupil Accounting
Provided building‐level workshops for all districts in Tuscola County
Provided one‐on‐one training for new local school district building staff
Presented auditor training sessions at the MPAAA state‐wide conferences
Served as ISD representative on the MPAAA’s Executive Board
Served as a Planning Committee Member for MPAAA
Served as a member of the MPAAA Legislative Committee
Served on the committee for developing and testing the new MSDS computer
program for count day submissions
Served on the MDE committee for establishing guidelines for auditing the
Seat Time Waiver program
Served on the MDE committee for evaluating and updating the graduation
audit guidelines
