LOENGARD<br />
Look, I understand not wanting to<br />
use your dad's connections. So let<br />
me talk to somebody on the Hill. I<br />
see people all the time, maybe --<br />
SAYERS<br />
<strong>The</strong> whole point is, I want to do<br />
this on my own.<br />
(sighs)<br />
I know. I'm whining.<br />
Loengard pulls her close, gives her a re-assuring hug.<br />
LOENGARD<br />
You do it your way, Kim. But just<br />
know I'm here if you need me.<br />
She kisses him, appreciative of his support. But their kiss<br />
is cut short when one of the kids accidentally knocks his<br />
pumpkin off the table. Sayers attends to the situation.<br />
Loengard sees her mood, grabs up two pencils used for marking<br />
the Jack-O-Lanterns and stabs them into the pumpkin head as<br />
antennae. He hides his own head inside his shirt and holds<br />
the pumpkin above it.<br />
LOENGARD (V.O.) (CONT'D)<br />
(Martian voice)<br />

<strong>The</strong> kids giggle. Even Sayers has to smile at his silliness.<br />
