do you think made the deal with<br />

LOENGARD<br />
Wow. This isn't just some military<br />
budget scandal anymore.<br />
SIMONSON<br />
That's the understatement of the<br />
year. This is quicksand, Loengard.<br />
Plain and simple.<br />
LOENGARD<br />
But Mark, this is the break we've<br />
been waiting for.<br />
SIMONSON<br />
Not me. I've got a wife and kids.<br />
I'm out. It's over. You hear me<br />
It's over.<br />
Loengard listens to Simonson HANG UP on him. His mind racing,<br />
he slowly replaces the receiver. Motionless for a moment,<br />
Loengard starts throwing his things together in haste.<br />
INT. HALLS OF CONGRESS - DAY<br />
Loengard hurries down the hallway. He sees something that<br />
stops him in his tracks.<br />
It's Bach, in a close huddle with Francis Gary Powers.<br />
Several uniformed military officers stand a respectful<br />
distance away.<br />
Loengard instinctively ducks into an open doorway. He peeks<br />
out. He can't hear what they're talking about, but it's<br />
clear from the body language that Bach is briefing Powers.<br />
After a moment, Powers nods, "got it." Suddenly, the group<br />
is engulfed by several TV crews and a contingent of print<br />
and radio REPORTERS, shouting questions.<br />
