INT. GEORGETOWN APARTMENT - DAY<br />
A key fumbles in the door, then it swings open. Standing<br />
outside are Loengard and Sayers, escorted inside by MR.<br />
CHESNEY, the landlord. As they all enter the furnished<br />
apartment:<br />
CHESNEY<br />
Not exactly the White House, but<br />
it's got that Capitol view you wanted,<br />
Mister Loengard.<br />
Sayers once-overs the place apprehensively, while Loengard<br />
goes right to the window and peeks out the ratty curtains,<br />
revealing an unimpressive glimpse of the Capitol dome in the<br />
distance.<br />
LOENGARD<br />
(self-deprecating)<br />
Look at that, Kim. I can wave to<br />
you from my new office.<br />
Sayers joins Loengard at the window, glancing briefly at the<br />
view, but clearly more concerned with the view inside.<br />
SAYERS<br />
If we take this, Mr. Chesney, do we<br />
get new curtains <strong>The</strong>se look like<br />
they've been around since the Coolidge<br />
Administration.<br />
Chesney looks skeptical.<br />
SAYERS (CONT'D)<br />
After all, we are paying ten dollars<br />
extra for the `view.'<br />
CHESNEY<br />
For you, Mrs. Loengard, I think we<br />
can swing some curtains.<br />
SAYERS<br />
Thank you. But it's not `Mrs.' At<br />
least, not yet.<br />
This elicits a roll of the eyes from Loengard.<br />
CHESNEY<br />
Oh, I see. I just assumed ...<br />
LOENGARD<br />
If it's a problem, we can keep<br />
looking.<br />
